How Wesbank tried to destroy Trevor’s LifeWe live in such sad times in our society, an innocent man was falsely accused by Wesbank and yet instead of protecting him he is being ridiculed and called all sorts of names. Have we become so immune to corruption around us that we don’t believe in clean and transparent business anymore? My point is we have become such individuals that when something happens to someone you’re not related to or a friend close to you, it is so easy to pass judgements, mock them and throw around hurtful words. I will personally help Mr Madondo in any way I can and ensure that Justice is done and Wesbank can make a public apology so that he can start picking up the pieces and move on with his life. I will also use every contact I have to make sure we make as much noise as we can to clear his name while Wesbank is keeping mum and sitting on the truth. Before you judge, remember what happened to Mr Madondo could happen to you or your loved one any day. Not everything is simply black or white there are always grey areas in between. The moment you live each day not knowing whether you will be sleeping in your own bed at home or waking up in some prison cell somewhere not knowing why a big financial institution falsely accused and tried to put you behind bars, then that is the day you will understand what the grey areas in life are. And during your time of hardship you watch all the people you thought would always have your back walk away from you and not even a phone call to check if you need any assistance as cases like these require a lot of money to get through let alone emotional support and yet you have always been there for them and assisted them with whatever they needed but now that you need them the most they simply walk away from you and shut you out. When this happens to you that is when you will know that life is definitely unfair. Before I proceed with the details of the saga please be alert that when one is being investigated for fraud and there are suspicions or there is evidence that you purchased any of your assets through fraudulent activities, the hawks repossess your assets and freeze your bank accounts, if they believe your money was acquired through fraudulent activities. None of Mr Madondo’s cars were ever taken and none of his bank accounts were ever frozen. To me this alone is an indication that Wesbank never had any evidence of the so called fraud. Secondly when there is a warrant of arrest out for you even if you are innocent it is best to hand yourself over to the police because if you ignore them and go somewhere where they can’t find you, they will assume you are on the run and conclude that you’re guilty. When they arrest you, you will not get bail because they will say you are a flight risk, that is why Mr Madondo handed himself to the police the moment he heard they were looking for him. He was the one who contacted them first before they directly contacted him because he had nothing to hide and has always been in a position to co-operate. On the 7th of February 2013, Mr Trevor Madondo received a phone call from a gentleman by the name of “Mr Naidoo” (real name Prethie Naidu according to accused number 2 from Wesbank) who informed him that he was the head of the Fraud division at Wesbank and that he needed to speak to him regarding MGT Motors and his vehicles. Mr Madondo was in a meeting at the time and advised him that he would call him back as soon as he was done. “Mr Naidoo” then lost his temper and threatened to come to Mr Madondo’s house with the Miss Tsholofelo Sithole (3rd member of Quest Properties) sent both Mr Madondo and Miss Mahloane an email resigning from the company. He was asked about the protocol and steps he followed when authorising Mr Madondo’s car deals and he told the guys that every single procedure was legitimately followed and that Mr Madondo qualified to obtain finance through Wesbank with all the documents Mr Madondo had supplied. Mr Naidoo sent Mr Madondo a text informing him that his “1 Series has been registered in Miss Mahloane’s name as well” (Proof of Text Messages is in Mr Madondo’s possession). an FNI at Miss Mahloane’s dealership Clint Essau walked in and joined them at the table. Mr Madondo would not have known about the cars because Miss Sithole herself had no knowledge about the operations of Miss Mahloane’s double discounting in her dealership. When you read her resignation letter you can tell that she was advised on what to write by someone inside Wesbank because the following day a warrant of arrest was out for Mr Madondo. On the morning of the 8th February 2013. At around 3pm. and who inside Wesbank told her to write that resignation letter. Mr Madondo told him that he didn’t appreciate his threats and that he is in a position to co-operate. Just as Mr Madondo sat down Mr Naidoo told him that he knew who he was and that he had worked very hard for himself and “The last thing Mr Madondo needs is his name and reputation to be tainted in the media”. It is very clear Wesbank had been communicating with her. Mr Madondo then asked him for a way forward to help them resolve the issue and Mr Naidoo said he would get back to him. Mr Madondo cancelled his meetings and then drove to the Wesbank Head Office in Fairlands. Mr Naidoo informed Mr Madondo that he was aware of his association with Miss Mahloane in Quest Group and Mr Madondo confirmed it. Upon his arrival he was taken into Mr Naidoo’s office where he had a round table discussion about his vehicles. Wesbank called Mr Madondo from their Call Centre offering him a Benefit on his Porsche Cayman PDK. Mr Naidoo also informed Mr Madondo that Miss Mahloane had not settled the Audi A3 that Mr Madondo traded in for the 1series and a few minutes later Mr Naidoo’s colleague Sam walked in with proof of payment showing that the Car had been paid off by Miss Mahloane’s dealership. Later that afternoon. “Mr Naidoo” then told Mr Madondo that he was satisfied with everything and told Mr Madondo he would stay in touch. Miss Sithole needs to be subpoenaed once the lawsuit starts so that she can tell the truth as to what Wesbank told her about Mr Madondo’s arrest and why they wanted to arrest him and not her. During the interview. She was basically completely distancing herself from the company. On the 4th of March 2013. They both worked with Miss Mahloane on Quest Group and both unknowingly bought double discounted cars from Miss Mahloane but Wesbank let go of her but arrested Mr Madondo. Mr Madondo did not hear from him after that day. Reason being that her involvement with Miss Mahloane was the same as Mr Madondo’s. Mr Madondo declined the offer immediately. . Then Mr Naidoo and his colleague Sam went on to explain the Case which has been opened against Miss Lerato Mahloane and alleged that she committed double discounting on some of Mr Madondo’s vehicles and other customer’s vehicles. There is no way she could resign and the following day someone is to be arrested.Police if he didn’t agree to see him. He then told Mr Madondo that he was aware that Quest Lifestyle was organising one of the biggest Entrepreneurship Seminars in May this Year. What people don’t know is that Miss Sithole had known Miss Mahloane much better than Mr Madondo did as she was being mentored by Miss Mahloane in the car industry way before they registered Quest Properties and she spent a lot of time at Miss Mahloane’s home. No arrest was made that weekend. noble and honourable businessman and it took one article to destroy all of that. Mr Madondo has never and is currently not involved in . his attorney and the rest of the court hearing why he was being added to the case during his bail hearing. Mr Madondo’s attorney then pleaded not guilty on his behalf as Mr Madondo didn't know what he was being charged for because he has never falsified any information. 1. He was then granted R10 000 bail. Upon hearing that the WO was looking for him. Mr Madondo’s attorney called him again the following day on the 6th of March 2013 to find out why they wanted to arrest Mr Madondo and he said they were adding him to Miss Mahloane's Fraud Charge. He said Mr Madondo was being charged for defrauding the bank of just over a Million on grounds of falsifying information. They sat next to each other and the journalists were taking pictures of accused number 1 (George Khanyile). Mr Madondo would hand himself over to the police on the 11th of March 2013. Mr Madondo handed himself over to the WO and then appeared in court that morning. honest. Mr Madondo has worked for 8 years building a reputation for himself as a respected. This is the same bank accusing him of fraud and yet they were still offering him benefits on his vehicles and deducting their monthly instalments off his account. On Monday 11th of March 2013. The Star Newspaper released an article (Written by Botho Molasankwe) with lies the following day of the 14th March 2013. The article paints him as someone who was involved in a syndicate which defrauded Wesbank. According to George they then started asking around in the courtroom why he was in court and what his association is to Lerato Mahloane and Trevor Madondo (If from your side you have any hesitation with the fact that Wesbank called the journalists we can always apply for the release of the surveillance footage in the courtroom which shows Wesbank officials walking in with the journalists. Mr Madondo then contacted his attorney and told him the story. It is clear that Wesbank’s intention was to go to the media anyway. Miss Mahloane refused to give him Mr Madondo’s number and she told him to get it from Wesbank as they have all of Mr Madondo’s details. I would like to bring to your attention that still at this point Mr Madondo didn't know why he was appearing in court and it was the first time for him. Mr Madondo received information from Miss Mahloane that a Warrant Officer of the Joburg specialised commercial crimes unit wanted Mr Madondo’s cell number because he had a warrant of arrest for him. The same week his warrant of arrest was taken out. he declined the benefits again as he already has benefits on his cars with his insurance company. On the 5th of March 2013. Wesbank called him again offering him benefits on his BMW Z4. The State Prosecutor referred to him as “Accused number 3” on a fraud case involving Wesbank. According to Mr George Khanyile on Wednesday 13 March 2013 Wesbank officials walked into "Courtroom B" followed by journalists. The article suggests that he was involved in some business dealings with Mr George Khanyile and Mlondi Khanyile. He then negotiated on Mr Madondo’s behalf and told them that an arrest was not necessary. On the 12th of March 2013 his attorney tried to find out what his client was being charged for and the Prosecution team told him they are still investigating the matter so they are not at liberty to tell him. 2.) There is no way that it was a coincidence for them to all walk in together and then sit next to each other after “Mr Naidoo” and his team had threatened Mr Madondo of going to the Press and speaking about “not wanting to see his reputation tainted in the media” on their first and only interview. 6. 7. He has never signed any partnership with the two whatsoever. Mr Madondo only knows George Khanyile and Mlondi Khanyile through his former business associate Miss Mahloane. and that is not his duty. Could it be that “Wesbank” used Mr Madondo’s name to attract attention from both the media and the public because of his social standing and associations in the media/public eye? At the end of the day if Miss Mahloane has done any double discounting for vehicles that is a matter that is between MGT Motors and Wesbank. Now why is it that none of the names of these individuals appear on the newspaper article. Mr Madondo does not have any knowledge to why it was not removed from his name. not between an innocent client and the bank because in this case the client has followed up on all protocol with the bank like the rest of the other clients did and would have not known about the double discounting. Again the Audi A3 mentioned on that article was settled by Miss Mahloane’s dealership and the eNATIS is with “Mr Naidoo” and his colleagues at Wesbank. 5. Should he have not been in a position to be approved to purchase any cars it is then the duty of Wesbank to decline the purchase of any of his vehicles? How then did Wesbank approve his vehicles if he didn't qualify to buy them? I would like to emphasize that as far as Mr Madondo is concerned he has never defaulted on any payments on any vehicles since he has been financed by Wesbank over 3 Years ago. any business deals with George Khanyile (accused number 1) and Mlondi Khanyile (accused number 2) in the above allegation. It is the duty of MGT Motors and Wesbank.3. Mr Madondo is not and has never been involved in Miss Mahloane's car dealership MGT motors nor does he have any form of alignment or partnership with MGT motors and yet the article alleges that he is in dealings with the company. Should this have been the case then I would like to believe that there are procedures to be followed by the bank. On the 8th of Feb 2013 “Mr Naidoo” had stipulated that Miss Mahloane double discounted some of his vehicles and a COUPLE OF OTHERS which belong to other clients. 4. He has been banking with FNB since 2006 (5 Accounts) and we would like to assume that if there were any irregularities with his accounts then FNB/Wesbank would have called him. If the journalist who wrote the article had bothered to call Mr Madondo she would have known that Wesbank is fully aware of the fact that Mr Madondo has nothing to do with that Audi A3. Not even a single cent of the R7million claimed to have been defrauded by him was deposited into any of his Bank Accounts. . Had she called any of the accused then she would have indicated on the article that she had made an attempt to call the accused and their phones rang unanswered or the accused would not like to comment on the matter. All he knows about George Khanyile is that he is Miss Mahloane's husband and the father of her daughter. The article was definitely sent out prematurely and we have no doubt that whoever gave out the information wanted to paint him in the worst possible light because The Star Journalist never called him to get his side of the story. Wesbank has never called him/ sent him any email / written any letter notifying him of any defaults of payments on his vehicles nor frozen any of his accounts “pending” their investigation. He was never given the opportunity to defend himself. All he did was buy cars from her and followed all legal procedures like any other client of MGT Motors. FNB/Wesbank has all his Banking Profiles. Mr Madondo doesn’t know what Miss Mahloane's relationship was and is with Mr Khanyile as he only met Mlondi Khanyile a couple of times on a social basis. Both are from disadvantaged backgrounds. Again this raises eyebrows as to how Wesbank doesn’t know how much Mr Madondo supposedly defrauded them. But because his name means nothing to her he will file a complaint with the ombudsman and ask for a retraction. Maybe or she just didn't care because she is not related to any of the accused. humiliating and painful for him. Over the past eight years Mr Madondo has been doing school visits. How is it then possible that each time he applied for the vehicles none of the Wesbank employees picked up the so called “falsified information?” 9. None of Mr Madondo’s vehicles were ever paid by a third party as stated by The Star Newspaper. On top of that Wesbank gave The Star Newspaper false information about the charges. From my side I am still baffled as to what Wesbank will get from embarrassing. Throughout this case he has been fully cooperative with Wesbank and the Police but Wesbank still had to go to The Star Newspaper with the story knowing fully what this could do to his reputation. I would also love to know if she came up with the angle of the story or “Mr Naidoo acting on behalf of Wesbank came up with the angle and if Sam (Naidoo’s colleague) was involved in any way. I’m just thinking out loud as to what she was going to gain or benefit from this as she went against an important and basic rule of news writing in journalism which every journalist knows. they were quick to make an arrest on a matter they themselves were not certain of. In the process he adopted a student from Ponego High School Gabi Mncube an ambitious future leader who would like to follow in Trevor's footsteps. I have no doubt that this was done deliberately. Information on the article was vague to create sensationalism and paint all the accused as fraudsters. Mr Madondo doesn't need to write to the Ombudsman for a retraction because she knows very well what she did and what she needs to do. Until today she has failed to write a retraction or the correct facts of the story or follow -up on the story that Mr Madondo’s charges were dropped. humiliating and painting Mr Madondo under this light as he has never had any run-ins or disputes with them or any individuals who work for Wesbank whatsoever. It shows Wesbank didn’t do sufficient investigations. judged and persecuted by the public on Social Media platforms. Mr Madondo’s personal and private affairs have been put out in the media for all to see. visiting at least 2 underprivileged schools a week motivating high school children all over Gauteng towards improving their circumstances by focusing on education. Regarding Botho Molosankwe’s role in this. Mr Madondo has three different vehicles financed by Wesbank and each time he applied for vehicle finance his applications were approved by different people. He has found himself being trialled. (You’re supposed to interview all the people involved in the case).8. Did Naidoo perhaps promise her something in return? That is why she never even bothered to call the accused and never even bothered to find facts about the story Yes. She could have done that the day after his court appearance like she did with the previous two articles. No. his community and his family. He has been paying for her tuition since grade 8 to date and she is currently doing her 1st year at the University . This is embarrassing. the courts said he was involved in fraud of “just over one million” but the newspaper article says it’s R7 million. it’s best to also get a subpoena once the lawsuit starts and she will be forced to tell the truth about why she never called the accused to tell their side of the story so that they can defend themselves and who told her to write that story as I will pretend I don't know it was “Mr Naidoo”. He has always paid for all his vehicles himself now them saying someone else pays for his vehicles is shocking and utter rubbish. No I’m not spreading vicious lies and allegations about them. . Miss Mahloane stepped down as CEO and Board Member of The Quest Group of companies pending the investigation and she was removed off the Quest Group websites on the week of the 20th of February 2013. On the 15th March 2013. hasty decisions and overzealous excitement to go the press with unfounded allegations driven by an egotistical quest for self praise by “Mr Naidoo” acting on behalf of Wesbank. it happened at MGT motors and everyone involved in this case including Wesbank knew that Mr Madondo has nothing to do with the dealership. this is the real world and Miss Mahloane saw potential in Quest Group and she was not going to risk the potential of making millions from the Quest Company by telling Mr Madondo the truth about MGT motors. 2 men on R7m fraud rap . People who don't reside in South Africa don't have enough knowledge of who he is and will not want to be associated to the so called “fraudster “as painted by the paper. How many people discuss the operations of other businesses with their business partners of other entities? And maybe Miss Mahloane did not realise how serious her charges were and figured she would quietly deal with what was happening in her dealership and there was no need for her to tell Mr Madondo as it did not affect Quest Group in any way as they are separate entities. When you google him. Nothing annoys me more than Wesbank releasing a statement on Sowetan live saying they are aware of the situation.. Wesbank has humiliated him enough and should stop dragging him into this matter because it is clear even they have more knowledge of the dealership than Mr Madondo does. At this point the investigating officer had satisfied himself that Mr Madondo did not act unlawfully at all and had no knowledge of Miss Mahloane’s dealings. What are they aware of exactly. I certainly don’t blame Miss Mahloane for any of this mess as she was within her rights to keep her business matters private between herself and her husband. integrity and transparency. Throughout this case there was nothing that annoyed and irritated me as people who acted holier than thou pretending as if we live in a perfect world. To make matters worse this alleged fraud did to even happen at Quest Group.. She achieved this through the financial help. She managed to get 5 distinctions at the end of 2012 in her Matric year. . On the 08th April 2013. Mr Madondo also tendered his resignation as a board member. I definitely blame Wesbank for doing such a sloppy job on their investigations. Fact is.of Johannesburg. It’s obvious Mr Madondo would not have agreed to go into business with her should he have known what was going on at MGT motors because he has always conducted all his businesses with honesty. this comes up: Lovers. Mr Madondo doesn’t only do business in South Africa but all over the world and this article will do big damage for his business. acting CEO and Group COO on the 30st March 2013 and has since cut all ties with Miss Mahloane. justice prevailed and all charges against him were dropped by the state against Trevor Madondo only because Wesbank still failed to provide evidence of what he falsified. Now all that he has been working for and wanted to achieve with the youth of this country has gone down the drain due to the damning articles by The Star Newspaper with information given by Wesbank. motivation and leadership of Mr Madondo...Crime & Courts | IOL News This article will follow him for some time to come.. You know what they say “throw a stone in the bush and see what comes out” and unfortunately for Wesbank no one came out to link Mr Madondo to the dealership because he was never part of that dealership and had no knowledge of their operations in the first place. or are they aware of the fact that people will be hesitant into going into any business dealings with him because they will think his a fraudster. . I don’t want to touch on Miss Mahloane’s case as it is pending (Sub Judice). As for Wesbank you knew from day one that Mr Madondo was innocent. OR THE FACT THAT THEY KNOWINGLY FALSELY ACCUSED HIM FROM DAY ONE. NOW HE HAS TO START FROM SCRATCH WHERE HE WAS 8 YEARS AGO. WE CAN ACCOMPLISH THIS IF EACH AND EVERY SOUTH AFRICAN ACROSS EVERY RACE CAN HELP US MAKE NOISE ON ALL MULTI MEDIA PLARTFORMS FROM RADIO. HIS VALUES AND ETHICS WERE DOUBTED BY THOSE WHO LOOKED UP TO HIM. he was nothing but collateral for you to get what you want. but you went after him because he was part of your publicity plan. And only God knows what you told the crimes unit to convince them to arrest Mr Madondo because you had no evidence. Had his arrest been based on association. I know Wesbank will try all they can to discredit us but that is not going to work and we will not be threatened or scared by big legal terms and huge corporate jargon. He needs to get his name back so that he can start getting his motivational bookings. With the continuous support of the country we know we can win this case and Mr Madondo will get the justice that he deserves.are they aware of the fact that they destroyed a young man’s life or are they aware that they have caused him and his family emotional trauma. or are they aware he doesn’t know any of miss Mahloane’s secrets or operations at MGT. If Wesbank is rubbishing my claims or disputing any of the events I would like to invite them to a public debate on a national platform where the country will hear both sides of the story and what exactly happened. All the other accused George Khanyile. Mr Madondo needs to carry on with his life and restore his name so that he can start making money again. I fully understand Wesbank’s position and that they will try whatever it takes to save the image of their business but unfortunately they should have thought of that before going to The Star Newspaper. his digital agency can get business and most importantly he can have his financial freedom again. TELEVISON. Wesbank would have arrested Miss Tsholofelo Sithole instead of allegedly telling her to write a resignation letter to distance herself from Quest Group so that they don’t arrest her based on association and for the fact that she also bought a vehicle from Miss Mahloane. WE WILL NOT BE BULLIED OR LIVE IN FEAR OF BIG ORGANISATIONS BECAUSE THEY HAVE ALL THE MONEY TO DO AS THEY PLEASE AND ACT AS THE LAW UPON THEMSELVES. Mlondi Khanyile and Lerato Mahloane are still under investigation. MAGAZINES AND NEWSPAPERS. his corporate sponsors can come back on board. .
