Clean the outside of the pump thoroughly before disassembly. place the unit in a stable position with the shaft pointing down. General instructions w Remove the unit Prior to performing major repairs. W Warning Reworking parts to dimensions outside Sauer-Danfoss specifications may reduce unit performance to unacceptable or unsafe levels and/or cause dangerous unit and system failure. Sauer-Danfoss trains Global Service Partners and certifies facilities on a regular basis. Cap hoses after removal to prevent contamination.Rework Specifications Introduction Overview This manual provides specifications for rework of service parts and assemblies. Cleaning parts using a clean solvent wash and air drying is usually adequate. Secure the pump/motor while removing and torquing the endcap bolts. as of May 1. Lightly lubricate all O-rings with clean petroleum jelly prior to assembly. Chock the wheels on the vehicle or lock the mechanism to inhibit movement. This assures these parts are lubricated during start-up. Inspect the outside of the pump and fittings for damage. e Keep it clean Cleanliness is a primary means of assuring satisfactory pump life on either new or repaired units. Protect all exposed sealing surfaces and open cavities from damage and foreign material. Do not reuse components that don’t comply to given specifications: replace with genuine Sauer-Danfoss service parts. Specifications are subject to change without notice. keep all parts free of foreign materials and chemicals. As with any precision equipment. swashplates. which may constitute a safety hazard. 4 520L1033 • Rev BG • February 2010 . 2006. This information is current. Take care to avoid contamination of the system ports. coat all moving parts with clean hydraulic oil. cylinder blocks. Do not resurface valve/bearing plates. If left unattended. t Secure the unit For major repair. d Replace all O-rings and gaskets Sauer-Danfoss recommends you replace all O-rings. or slippers beyond minimum thickness requirements. Only Sauer-Danfoss Global Service Partners are authorized to perform rework and major repairs. This manual contains proprietory information. l Lubricate moving parts During assembly. Be aware that hydraulic fluid may be under high pressure and / or hot. cover the pump with a protective layer of plastic. remove the unit from the vehicle/machine. based on factory data. W Warning Use of components that do not comply with rework specifications may result in loss of performance. Personal safety W Warning Protect yourself from injury. Take the following general precautions whenever servicing a hydraulic system. Use proper safety equipment. To protect against unintended movement. including safety glasses. Flammable cleaning solvents W Warning Some cleaning solvents are flammable. Fluid under pressure W Warning Escaping hydraulic fluid under pressure can have sufficient force to penetrate your skin causing serious injury and/or infection. or components. Relieve pressure in the system before removing hoses. fittings. Unintended machine movement W Warning Unintended movement of the machine or mechanism may cause injury to the technician or bystanders. gauges. Never use your hand or any other body part to check for leaks in a pressurized line. do not use cleaning solvents in an area where a source of ignition may be present. Protect yourself and others from injury. Use caution when dealing with hydraulic fluid under pressure.Rework Specifications Introduction Safety precautions Always consider safety precautions before beginning a service procedure. This fluid may also be hot enough to cause burns. at all times. Seek medical attention immediately if you are cut by hydraulic fluid. secure the machine or disable/ disconnect the mechanism while servicing. 520L1033 • Rev BG • February 2010 5 .
