Description

Nitomortar TC2000Epoxy resin compound based sealing and constructive solutions anchoring Uses As a two part filled epoxy resin used to seal over cracks in structural materials such as concrete in aggressive environments. A pore sealer on horizontal and vertical surfaces eliminating minor irregularities prior to the application of Nitocote and Nitoflor Epoxy and Urethane coatings. Fixing and bedding of tiles, dowel bars and anchor bolts. Hole depth of anchoring system is derived from equation 48 in BS8110:1985; The design anchorage bond stress is assumed to be constant over the anchorage length, fb = Fs / π Øe l fb is the (permitted) bond stress; Fs is the (pull out) force in the bar or group of bars; Advantages ■ Non-slump, can be applied to vertical surfaces and trowelled into blow holes. Fs = Steel shear resistance (VRd,s) = 0.6 Cross sectional area (As) x Characteristic yield stress of steel, fuk or Y, 425 N/mm2. Øe is the effective bar size; is the anchorage length. ■ Superior bond strength to virtually all substrates. l ■ Smooth paste consistency, easy to apply and finish. ■ Good chemical resistance. Further rearrangement of above formula will end up to the following formula; ■ Excellent adhesion. ■ Compatible to over-coat with epoxy coating. Hole depth (l) in mm = 0.6 Y S π d2 X 0.25πd12 d2 is the hole diameter of the concrete in mm. Description Properties Nitomortar TC2000 is a two component thixotropic compound based on high quality solvent-free epoxy resin systems. The material is supplied in pre-weighed quantities ready for on-site mixing and use. Once it is cured, it will form a completely impermeable surface ready for overcoating. Nitomortar TC2000 is available as standard in Grey colour. In addition, the company offers a technical support package to specifiers, end users and contractors, as well as on-site assistance. Design criteria Nitomortar TC2000 can be applied in sections 0.5 to 2.0 mm thickness in horizontal and vertical locations in a single application without the use of formwork. Greater thicknesses than those specified can be achieved by application of subsequent layers. For anchoring applications, a maximum diameter difference between dowels and the concrete drilled holes is 25 mm, and a minimum diameter difference is set at 3mm. Consult the local Fosroc office for further information. 100% 3 hrs 15 min. 2 hrs 20 min. 30 N/mm2 40 N/mm2 2 54 N/mm 70 N/mm2 19 N/mm 2 2 14 N/mm 1.59 Up to 3 mm maximum Application instructions Preparation Clean the surface and remove any dust, unsound or contaminated material, plaster, oil, paint, grease, corrosion deposits or algae. Surface should preferably be prepared using high-pressure water jetting or light abrasive blasting, followed by thorough washing to remove dust and remaining particles. Application thickness will vary with profile and alignment of substrate. This time should be reduced at higher temperature. loose material. Alternatively. tight trowelling onto the substrate to ensure positive adhesion and that all blow-holes and defects are completely filled to produce a smooth even finish. Nitomortar TC2000 should not be used when the o temperature is below 5 C and falling. drill holes are to be half filled with Nitomortar TC2000. and contaminants. Precautions Health and Safety Nitomortar TC2000 and Fosroc Solvent 102 should not come in contact with skin and eyes. Do not use a water jet. Storage conditions Store in dry conditions at temperatures between 5oC and o 30 C in the original. filling knife or steel float. then remove the dust generated using clean rags and Fosroc Solvent 102 prior to apply the second layer. Some people are sensitive to resins and solvents. High temperature working At ambient temperatures above 35oC Nitomortar TC2000 will have shorter pot life and working life. Due to wastage factors practical coverage may be reduced. rinse immediately with plenty of clean water and seek medical advice. Should accidental skin contact occur. taking particular care to scrape the sides and bottom of the containers. Mixing Estimating The entire contents of the hardener can should be added to the base container and mixed thoroughly until a uniform grey colour and consistency are obtained. Beyond this open time abrade the surface of Nitomortar TC2000 with sandpaper. Finishing Any ridges left by the trowel can be brushed out while the material is still wet or ground down with a carborundum stone before over-coating. The materials should be stored in the shade or in air-conditioned environments and should not be applied in direct sunlight. refer to the Product Material Safety Data Sheet. Exposure to heavy rainfall prior to final set may result in surface scour. consult the local Fosroc Office. Barrier creams provide additional skin protection. this can be accomplished by applying the additional layer between 2 to 8 hours at 25◦C after the first layer application. Excess material is to be cleaned and removed whilst wet. gloves and eye/face protection. Do not mix part packs under any circumstances. Hardened material can only be removed mechanically. followed by soap and water. If stored at high temperatures the shelf life may be reduced. It is recommended that mechanical mixing be employed using a Jiffy mixer on a slow speed electric drill. Do not use solvent. For further information. the first layer of Nitomortar TC2000 may be “scratch keyed” whilst wet to provide mechanical key for subsequent layers. inserting the anchor should push the material to be distributed uniformly around the anchor.
