The Early Years Of JUPEM’s activities The Early Years Of JUPEM’s activities Triangulation Survey • Perak Trigonometrical Survey Department was established in1887 • Establishment of PERAK SYSTEM Triangulation network in Perak, Penang and Kedah (1888 – 1896). Topographic Survey • Topographical Branch was established in 1910 • Land Survey Datum was established in 1912 • Survey carried out with plane table, prismatic compasses and Theodolites. Bowditch adjustment distributes closing errors linearly but not able to provide a unique coordinates solution. Bowditch Least Squares Non Rigorous Adjustment Technique for Coordinates Computation JUPEM GeoPortal www.jupem.gov.my Modernisation in Disseminating Survey Data and Mapping Products Certified Plan Digital Certified Plans can be obtained in Tiff Format and in accordance to Digital Signature Act 1997 Standard Sheet Automatically generated from the system with various scales Digital Cadastral Data Can be obtained in Shapefiles for GIS Analysis Topographic Maps JUPEM produces both Restricted and Non Restricted Topographic Maps Town Maps Thematic Maps e.gTourist Maps E-Maps (Electronic Digital Maps) A digital cartographic multimedia product with the multimedia interactive CD-ROM concept which have special characteristic such as concept information at finger tips, searching method is easy and fast, location browsing at glance and virtual reality function. Aerial Photographs High quality aerial photographs are an integral part of our map revision system , used to plot topographic features and heights. An orthophoto is an aerial photograph that has been rectified such that it is equivalent to a map of the same scale. Orthophoto (matched with the topographic map) Digital Terrain Model (DTM) Digital terrain products may be used in the generation of three- dimensional graphics displaying terrain Slope, and terrain profiles between selected points. •This control station were chosen for use as control in cadastral surveys, mapping, military scientific studies and etc. GPS Control Station •Located near or within permanent structure such as milestones, bridges, telecommunication poles and buildings. Bench Marks Gravity Data To calculate orthometric correction for precise levelling network and to calculate local geoid and produce gravimetric geoid model.
