Description

UniConnThe UniConn universal site controller provides a single platform for protection, control, and data acquisition for ESPs, surface pumps, or other monitored wells. Applications Fixed-speed and variable-speed motor control and protection n Surface data acquisition for monitoring downhole gauges n Wellsite interface for all artificially lifted and monitored wells n Benefits Ultimate control and data management to help protect well or reservoir system’s investment n Simple field operation and maintenance to reduce equipment and training costs n Proven reliability and integrity in most environmental conditions n Features Centralized data gathering and storage for troubleshooting and engineering analysis n Remote access and control capability from multiple SCADA systems and espWatcher* surveillance and control system in parallel n Plain-language, multilingual alarms and prompts n Event memory for up to 500 events with removable memory module for data logging and trending n PC-based StarView* wellsite display software for device configuration, operation, and troubleshooting n Acquisition system for Phoenix* XT and Select* downhole monitoring gauges, and cable-tosurface (CTS) gauges with Phoenix interface card (PIC) n The UniConn controller replaces the multiple surface components commonly needed for data acquisition, monitoring, and control for variable speed drives (VSDs), fixed speed drives (FSDs), and downhole gauges. The UniConn* universal site controller can monitor multiple well and operating data points—electrical system data, information from external analog or digital devices, data measured by the downhole monitoring system, and remote commands. Users can program alarm and trip settings locally or remotely. In its basic configuration, the UniConn device is a fixed-speed motor controller and data acquisition device. It can be easily adapted for use as a data acquisition and communication hub or VSD controller by adding as many as four expansion cards. Each expansion card is plug-and-play with card control menus automatically added to the UniConn front panel screen. Firmware upgrades are typically performed at the wellsite using a laptop computer connected to the serial port on the front of the controller. Typically, the upgrades are completed in less than 1 minute. The UniConn device can accommodate four analog and six digital input channels and provide two analog and four digital output channels, each individually configurable. For remote monitoring and control, the UniConn system can be connected to a SCADA system and/or the espWatcher surveillance and control system—in parallel, if required. 800 data points).
