2013[CERTIFICATE COURSE IN IMMUNIZATION PRACTICE (CCIP) (MAY 2013 TO AUGUST 2013)] Be Knowledgeable and skilled to make every child a “VIP” “VACCINATED IMMUNIZED AND PROTECTED  Course is envisioned to be a unique model to improve the immunization coverage in urban areas and strengthen the immunization program in India contributing to the achievement of MDG. Course Title: Certificate Course in Immunization Practices (CCIP) Objective:  Certificate Course in Immunization Practices is designed to enhance knowledge.Salient features of the Certificate Course in Immunization practices (CCIP) Background and Rationale  In India it is estimated that while the private sector provides more than three-fourths of all curative health care services.  There is a need for the involvement of private practitioner in national health programmes.PHFI Page 1/4 .  This course will also have a major thrust on safe vaccination and effective cold chain and vaccine storage practices to enable the primary care physicians to have an overall understanding of the whole spectrum of VPD’s.  It is important that they are given ready access to updated evidence based protocols for providing health services. its contribution to maternal and child health preventive and promotive services are less than one-third. Total 3 cycles of training batches are planned in a phased manner. this needs to be preceded with appropriate training inputs to improve their knowledge and skills for delivering quality services. skills and core competencies of primary care physicians from urban and peri-urban areas of India on Immunization to undertake evidence based quality vaccination.  This course will focus on various available vaccines in India as recommended by GoI and IAP for protection of children. with once a month 4 contact sessions (in 4 months). adolescents and adults from vaccine preventable diseases and conditions. conditions and Immunization. About the course:  It will comprise of 5 modules.4. preferably on Sundays. Certificate Course in Immunization Practice (CCIP) . However. There will be two faculty at each centre.  The course will be launched in 25 centres across 14 states in India.PHFI Page 2/4 . who will facilitate the course in identified centers across country.
