The current NEBOSH Diploma syllabus have been around (with some minor updates) for nearly 5 years and hase now been reviewed as part of NEBOSH’s standard 5-year cycle. NEBOSH have consulted widely with students, employers, professional bodies, course providers and principal examiners to ensure the revised qualifications are relevant for the needs and challenges of industry and practitioners for the next 5 years. To find out more about the changes see http://www.rrc.co.uk/news-resources/nebosh-diploma-2015-syllabus-revisionlatest-news.aspx What does it mean for me? All course providers need to be teaching the new syllabus from September this year, with the first exam in January 2017. There are transitional arrangements with the January and July 2017 exams being set on content common to both the current and new syllabi. So if you want to take your First exam in July 16 you will need to enrol on the OLD syllabus, if you do not intend to take your first exam until January 2017 you should enrol on the new syllabus. Assessment The examination for both versions of the syllabus consists of three 3-hour written examinations (one each for Units IA, IB & IC) and a work based project (Unit ID). You must pass all four to be awarded the NEBOSH International Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety. Entry Requirements The NEBOSH Diploma builds on knowledge that is gained from studying a NEBOSH Certificate or similar course and it is therefore highly recommended such a qualification is gained before starting the NEBOSH Diploma course. For details on the knowledge required before starting to study the NEBOSH Diploma see our Guidance on Direct Entry to the NEBOSH Diploma. Email:
