Created with the Personal Edition of HelpNDoc: Easily create Web Help sites Tika Currency Aquantika uses two types of currency - Pearls and Coin Pearls and coin can be purchased from Aquantika under the Buy Pearls tab on the Game Screen. Most players see no reason to purchase coin, as it is easily accumulated through game play and selling gifts and decor items. Coin is easiest to earn and accumulate and is earned by selling fish. Coin is used to buy certain fish, decor items, and gifts. Coin may be used to purchase additional aquariums provided you have the required number of Friends to use coin. You can sell gifts you receive, decor items and backgrounds for coin, but the sell price is much lower than the purchase price. Items purchased with pearls can only be sold for coin. You cannot sell any items for pearls. Pearls are harder to earn and are earned when you reach new level (1 pearl for each level with bonus pearls at milesone levels e.g. level 100), breed a fish for the first time, compete in the Gallery, or complete a Quest or an Aquantika Mini Game. Pearls are also awarded from the Aquantika Mini Games and Daily Gift that pops up when you load the game. Pearls are used to buy certain fish, additional aquariums, aquarium upgrades, backgrounds, decor items, gifts, and VIP membership. Bonus Pearls and Coin! Aquantika Mini Games Once a day* the Aquantika Mini Games will pop up. Click on a bubble to receive a coin or pearl prize. Click Until Tomorrow to continue with the game. Please note that you do not have to be a member of the Mini Games group to play Aquantika's Mini Games - they are available to all Aquantika players. Daily Gift Once a day* after you play Aquantika Mini Games, you will receive your Daily Gift, which runs in a 5-day cycle. On the first four days, you will get a coin prize, and a pearl on the fifth. *Aquantika Mini Games and the Daily Gift pop up once a day, usually at least 24 hours after the last play. For example: You open or refresh your Game at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, the Mini Games and Daily Gift pop up and you collect your prizes. You open or refresh your Game at 11 am on Wednesday and no pop ups. You reopen or refresh your Game after 1:00 pm on Wednesday, the screens will pop up. Play Games in Mini Games Group for Coin and Pearl Prizes You can also win any item that can be gifted by playing games and entering design contests in the Mini Games Group. Aquantika is designed to be a social game and there are many benefits to adding Friends who play Aquantika. Adding friends allows you to purchase additional aquariums with coin instead of pearls. Adding Friends is required to complete the Social Quests. Adding Friends in Aquantika is a great place to meet folks from all over the world who share a common interest. A good way to make friends is to join a Group. Not only will you find other players who are happy to have new friends, but you will find that they are happy to share their knowledge of Aquantika. As you may have discovered, there is not a lot of information available out there about how to play Aquantika. Groups are the best places to learn about all the ins and outs of the Game. In the Mini Games Group, for example, we have a special post for new members to add their name to so that older players can see and add them as friends. We also play games for coin and pearl prizes, hold design contests and workshops, help each other with Aquantika hints and tips, answer any questions new players may have, and sometimes just chat about silly stuff! There are many Aquantika groups and our advice is to check out as many as you wish to find those that feel most comfortable for you! Some items are only available to those with a VIP membership and can only be sent as gifts by those who have a VIP membership. However ANYONE can receive these items as gifts, whether VIP members or not. NOTE: Fish (except for the ones found in the Gift Shop) and Backgrounds cannot be gifted. Aquantika players have established a tradition where older players gift new players with decor items. New players are encouraged to send older players a gift of one free heart per week and the older player will likely respond with a gift of a decor item or items. They are happy to do this as they were helped when they were new. Please note that because of limited inventory space, many older players actually prefer getting the free heart, which they already have space for, than gifts of decor items they may not have room for, so don't feel bad about "only" sending a free heart. We all like to feel loved! It is considered very bad form to ask for gifts either in posts or private messages (PMs). If you do this, you will likely receive a friendly warning the first time. If you do it again you may be unfriended or even removed from a group. In order to assist new players in getting items they may want, the Mini Games Group has a "Gift Swap" post where members can arrange to send each other gifts. In addition, the Mini Games Group has created a Patron of Tank Art (POTA) grant program. This is a program supported by donations from Minigamers. The way it works is that if you have a design idea for a tank, but do not have all of the decor items you need, you can submit your tank idea to POTA for a grant of decor items. This is a very popular program and we have all been rewarded with the gifts of some amazing tanks! Random Notes on Gifting Once you accept a gift, there is no record of who sent it to you. So, if you want to thank those who send you gifts, be sure to make note of who sent you which gift before you click Accept. Senders do not see whether or not a gift has been accepted or rejected. Your aquarium should have a creative "Title" that relates to the design within. The abusive practice of mass voting from fake accounts is not allowed and is in strict violation of the Gallery rules. All players who break Gallery Rules will have "weight" added to their aquarium at the gallery's end. This quest is unique because players cannot purchase this fish for themselves - the fish must be gifted to you by another player. The Valentine Parrot fish comes from the Valentine Mystery Box which is available for purchase in the Tika Gift Shop at a cost of one (1) pearl. Each Valentine Mystery Box contains either a Pillow decoration or a Valentine Parrot fish, you will find out when you accept your gift. You are likely to get a lot of pillows before you get a fish. BE SURE THAT YOU HAVE ROOM FOR A FISH IN THE TANK WHEN YOU ACCEPT YOUR GIFT BOX. If there is no room in the tank, and your box contained a fish, you will NOT get the fish. You need one male and one female fish to breed, just like any other fish. The Valentine Parrot has a breed rate of 20% and there are NO breed helpers, so be prepared for many failed breeds, this is perfectly normal. To help players get started with the Valentine Parrot Quest, Mini Gamers have set up a Valentine Parrot fund, supported by donations from fellow players. Players who do not have any Valentine Parrots can request Valentine Boxes from this fund to get started. For more information, look for this post on the Mini Games page.
