NORSOK STANDARDM-120 Rev. 4, June 2004 Material data sheets for structural steel This NORSOK standard is developed with broad petroleum industry participation by interested parties in the Norwegian petroleum industry and is owned by the Norwegian petroleum industry represented by The Norwegian Oil Industry Association (OLF) and Federation of Norwegian Manufacturing Industries (TBL). Please note that whilst every effort has been made to ensure the accuracy of this NORSOK standard, neither OLF nor TBL or any of their members will assume liability for any use thereof. Furthermore, NORSOK standards are as far as possible intended to replace oil company specifications and serve as references in the authorities’ regulations. The NORSOK standards are normally based on recognised international standards, adding the provisions deemed necessary to fill the broad needs of the Norwegian petroleum industry. Where relevant, NORSOK standards will be used to provide the Norwegian industry input to the international standardisation process. Subject to development and publication of international standards, the relevant NORSOK standard will be withdrawn. The NORSOK standards are developed according to the consensus principle generally applicable standards work and according to established procedures defined in NORSOK A-001. The NORSOK standards are prepared and published with support by The Norwegian Oil Industry Association (OLF) and Federation of Norwegian Manufacturing Industries (TBL). NORSOK standards are administered and published by Standards Norway. Introduction The reference document for grade specifications is the August 2001 edition of EN 10225 The main changes in Rev. 4 are as follows: (not marked) For MDS’s: − MDS-Y01 is split into Y01, Y02 and Y03 for SMYS 235 MPa, 275 MPa and 355 MPa respectively − Thickness limitation is extended for MDS-Y05,Y06, Y07, Y15 − S355J2G3 with additional requirement to impact energy (same as for S355K2G3) and P and S is included in MDS-Y05 − Reference to the final EN 10225 − Requirement for CTOD for thicknesses above 40 mm − Requirement to stain age tests deleted for sections and tubulars with SMYS below 500 MPa − Min. Ni content of 0,50 for MDS-Y50 and Y55 − MDS-Y70 is deleted Note: It should be observed that the requirement to fabrication tolerances in M-101 may be more strict than the manufacturing tolerances for steel products according to this standard.
