The HyperVM control panel should be included for free by any hosting company that offers it. This is a very common configuration and it shouldn't be difficult to find a Linux VPS running a Ubuntu 8 operating system. but it is very likely that they will also give you the option to choose an advanced control panel for an additional fee. so if the hosting company has a charge for it. the virtual part is referring to the fact that they're not going to ship the server to your house. This is what we need. a Virtual Private Server. This is what gives us the ability to access the server from our home computer (via the internet). 2) Control Panel: HyperVM Control Panel This is the control panel we need to have pre-installed on the VPS. You absolutely should not have to pay for the HyperVM control panel. Linux Ubuntu 8 is the operating system we need to have pre-installed on the VPS. . a. There are many different control panels on the market. * Any version of Ubuntu 8 will be fine. you will access it via the virtual world.Hosting Package Requirements 1) Operating System: Unmanaged Linux VPS (Virtual Private Server) running a Ubuntu 8 * 32Bit (Not 64Bit) When you get to the hosting company's website look for the section on VPS's. It's totally private. Most likely at this time it will be 8. That does NOT mean that it's virtually private. but HyperVM is the exact one that we need. the internet. In fact.10.k. find a new hosting company. There is absolutely no need for us to use an advanced control panel. the HyperVM is the only one we want to use. At worst. this search string will probably work best: vps hypervm ubuntu Those four requirements are all that we need to get started: 1) Linux VPS with a Ubuntu 8 Operating System – 32Bit (Not 64Bit) 2) HyperVM control panel 3) 256 Meg Ram (minimum) 4) 150 Gig Bandwidth (minimum) You should be able to get this VPS Hosting Package for $10 or less per month. It's quite rare for someone to set up a totally private proxy for their own personal use like we are. if you tell them what you're doing.3) Dedicated RAM (Random Access Memory): 4) Bandwidth: 256 Meg (minimum) 150 Gig (minimum) If you're going to search for this on Google. and thus. if they don't allow it. It's a good idea to contact the hosting company with an email to ensure that you will be getting what you think you are getting. Trust me. potentially get their IP's blocked. If they don't specifically say that you cannot have a proxy on an Unmanaged VPS. It's NOT necessary to ask them if they allow you to put a proxy on their “Unmanaged” VPS servers. . then you're fine. Some companies get nervous when they hear the word proxy because they expect that someone is setting up a Free Public Proxy for anyone to use and thus. all you'll have to do is find a different hosting company. You don't need any extra attention. they will probably put you on a watch list and monitor your VPS much more closely to make sure you're not abusing their IP's. they will make that very clear on their website. Although most hosting companies DO allow you to put proxies on their “Unmanaged” VPS servers (but NOT on their “Managed” VPS servers) there is NO reason to specifically ask them that. rather than asking about it in an email. so it's better to just look around their website and make sure that it doesn't specifically forbid proxies on their Unmanaged VPS's. You will need the information in this email before you can start turning your VPS into an Elite-Proxy-Server. Log in to your HyperVM control panel with your username and password (from the email the hosting company sent you). After you've logged in. the hosting company will send you another email letting you know that your VPS is ready for you to access. STEP 2: Paste-in New Source File Click on the “File Manager” Icon. And then usually within about 24 hours after that. STEP 1: Login to Your New Virtual Private Server Open your web browser (Mozilla Firefox Recommended) and Copy the internet address of your VPS (from the email the Hosting company sent you) and paste it into your web browser's address field and hit the “enter” key or the “go” button. the HyperVM control panel will open. just like you would to go to any website. You only need to care about these two sections: The “Console Access” icon. The File Manager will open and display a list of directories (folders) and files. It's probably a good idea to “bookmark” this web address for easy future access. The HyperVM control panel's log in page will open. .Turning Your VPS into an Elite-Proxy-Server After you've completed your order the hosting company will send you an email confirming your purchase.
