The current selling prices of urea and P & K fertilizers are less than the cost of production, the difference between selling price and the cost of production as assessed by the government is borne as subsidy. The subsidy on urea is Rs. 22,661.89 per tonne, on complex fertilizer20:20:00:13 is Rs, 5,640.20 per tonne and on DAP is Rs. 15,183.24 per tonne, the total subsidy accounted for the year ended 2010-11 was Rs. 1,614 cr. SUGGESTIONS & CONCLUSION FINDINGS The study conducted at Mangalore Chemicals and Fertilizers Limited regarding Organizational study has following findings:  MCF has introduced good labor welfare facilities which care the needs of workers and consequently increases the love and affiliation of the workers toward the organization. the company has well established and functioning transportation facilities. . there is the total quality management at work and check the quality. There is formal and official way of absenting from work even for an hour.  The production department joining hands with the training department makes it possible to enforce the required changes for the purpose of improved and efficient production. There is a well maintained attendance register and the workers are aware of the importance of efficient work.  Another important factor is the MCF has clearly understood the need of changing according to the time and the need of effective productivity. reduction of cost and increased customer and employee satisfaction. Also they are applying 5s house keeping techniques. which help their employers to have there leave. . Some of the major findings are listed below:  They are releasing their 3monthly magazine called as MANGALA VARTHA.  They are doing special camps on growth of crops and soil fertility.  Based on the seasons they are introducing special products example special paddy. For example. Special cotton etc. Director opinion and company progress. The team also conducted many soil sampling demonstrations. two months back they conducted soil campaign was organized by Nasik on 8th june 2012. Staff activities and some special programmes was conducted by organization .  Also they conducted Health camps and first aid training programmes. It consists of various details such as performance of organization about 3 months. . Well known officers are working there. Based on the seasons they are producing their fertilizers. Also they are adopted modern High Class technology(Japan technology). .  One of important thing I have been noticing that they are considered the farmers opinions seriously and also they will solve their complaints and doubts. HRD suggestions shall be more effective and the result shall be more forth coming.  Resistance to change by all concerned. if the following background studies are implemented before taking up the suggestions. . which are given below.  To increase organizational effectiveness through good leadership.  HRD takes a lot of time and effort for obtaining tangible output. better commitment etc. Suggestions are made under the various employee related areas.only the fulfillment of their basic needs through money can motivate them. confidence about work and organization. but certain changes are required to bring in the developmental angle.SUGGESTIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS At present .  Majority of the work force is from the lower level of the society and is in the lowest level in the Maslow’s Need Hierarchy . the over all functions of the company are going on well. job evaluation study and gradation along with gradation. team building etc.policies and practices.designations have to be revamped.quality policy etc…for the organization to the development in liaison management.mission . Vision .. .  Monthly informal meeting of all the managerial staff to sort out problems in an informal way to aid in conflict resolution.objectives.notice etc.  A formal top to bottem flow of information between the management and the employees to be generated through-circular..this creates awareness regarding the company vision.  Job description revamping the organizational structure (look to decreasing span of management) and job specification studies. Organizational structure of the company. The study given information about the manufacturing products. . Various processes are controlled and monitored under the skilled supervision and skilled labours. The co-operation and interaction extent by the employees and management of the MCF have made it possible for the depth organizational study which would be of much used to the research in the future.CONCLUSION The project study entitled “organizational study of Mangalore Chemicals and Fertilizers Ltd Mangalore “ has given me deep knowledge about the organization and the Fertilizer industry. The data with regard to the study collected from the MCF Ltd helps to understand the process of production of Fertilizers and chemicals Each department in MCF Ltd was analyzed in detail. departmental functions and gives a good knowledge about the financial position of the company.
