Recommended values are optimized in tests which are run in Nokia laboratories and in several live pilot networks. • TS-RNC-SW-197 : Object deletion restrictions in RNW backup plan provisioning This Technical Support Note is to clarify problems reported when provisioning RNW backup plans from NetAct Configurator to the radio controller (RNC). • TS-RNC-SW-207 : Preventive information about using LMP as storage unit This Technical Support Note gives the Preventive information about using LMP as a storage unit. LMP does not contain any disk or an external storage device; it is purely running in the RAM and is EMG-RNC-OMS - Page 15/26 © Nokia 2018 Version 20.0 Confidential ` loading from a limited-size flash memory. Therefore, LMP is not designed for storing any data. Copying of files or any other data to LMP is totally prohibited due to flash memory limitation which might lead to outage. Only exceptions are actions documented during integration and commissioning phase which needs to be done as instructed. • TS-RNC-SW-228 : Recommended parameter set for optimizing RRM functionalities The purpose of this Technical Support Note is to explain Nokia enhanced algorithms for optimizing admission control and packet scheduling functionalities, enhanced algorithms for optimizing RRM functionalities and recommended parameter set for optimizing RRM functionalities and for improving HSDPA retainability. Algorithm recommendations are optimized in tests which are run in Nokia laboratories. This document contains Nokia recommendations, but the final decision about using enhanced algorithms and recommended values must be done locally by the network planners when local conditions are known. This document covers the issue introduced in TN113, TN159 and 189, that is from RN8.1 onwards they are not valid anymore and needed updates are presented here. • TS-RNC-SW-231 : USPU overload triggered after uptime of 49 days and 17 hours in mcRNC An error in the system time wrap-around handling leads to increased CPU consumption on USPU units in mcRNC. This is visible as a short peak in failure KPIs: the main impact is on connection setup KPIs but also retainability KPIs have been impacted. In most cases system recovers by itself, however in some cases controllers with high traffic load have required recovery actions in order to fully recover the KPI performance. In low traffic load mcRNC’s the KPI impact is minimal and may not be visible in day-to-day KPI follow-up. • TS-RNC-SW-236 : LAN port down after S3/S7 HW expansion or new delivery installation We have a problem due to a missing Ethernet driver in mcRNC16 and mcRNC17 SWs. This problem is valid only with new versions of the BCN-B module. This is not a HW problem even if only new BCN HW is impacted. The deliveries of the new BCN HW versions have started end of January 2017. The versions which are impacted: BCNSET-B C112929.08 BCN-B C112928.H4B (HW version A104-2) BCNSET-B C112929.09 BCN-B C112928.H4C (HW version A104-3) • TS-RNC-SW-238 : Minimum software level dependency for using new A4A Version Hard disk with H4B Version BCN-B module in Multicontroller RNC There will be a new A4A version of HDS30-A Hard disk which will be delivered starting from P01/2018. This new hard disk version is having a mandatory minimum mcRNC software dependency with new H4B version BCN-B modules. The minimum mcRNC software level requirement to use this new hard disk in H4B version BCN-B modules are mcRNC17 4.0 or later release. There is no restriction in using this hard disk in using this HDD with older BCN boxes. In case of mcRNC SW is lower than mcRNC17 4.0, customers have to manually limited SAS controller speed to 3Gbps if HDD will be replaced with A4A HDD. • TS-RNC-SW-243 : Meltdown and spectre impacts on Nokia Radio products This document provides an overview of the Spectre and Meltdown impact on the Nokia radio products. This TS Note introduces the naming which is used in WCDMA18. 3.1.2 List of Active TS Notes for WCDMA OMS • TS-RNC-SW-192 : ProLiant BL460c Gen8 blade introduction and firmware upgrade for G6 and Gen8 This Technical Support Note provides information about recommended procedure for introduction of the new HP ProLiant BL460c Gen8 blade into existing enclosure. It also contains information about available firmware upgrades for HP ProLiant BL460c G6 and Gen8 blades. • TS-RNC-SW-196 : Security vulnerabilities on HP ProLiant servers This Technical Support Note describes Critical security vulnerabilities were found from G6 and Gen8 OMS HP ProLiant servers iLO port causing that the remote Intelligent Platform Management Interface (IPMI) service is affected by an authentication bypass. • TS-RNC-SW-220 : iLO firmware update on HP ProLiant For RNCOMS3.1 / WCDMA16 and versions above it is necessary to upgrade iLO firmware. Upgrade should be performed on HP ProLiant G6 servers for HP Integrated Lights-Out 2 , on HP ProLiant Gen8 for HP Integrated Lights-Out 4 and on HP ProLiant Gen9 for HP Integrated Lights-Out 4 Target firmware should be the highest available for both releases. It is strongly recommended to keep firmware version on WCDMAOMS system up-to-date. • TS-RNC-SW-222 : Nwi3Adapter deadlock This Technical support Note describes about Nwi3 deadlock, sometimes (especially during long running, high network traffic operations between OMS and clients – NetAct, Application Launcher) login to OMS via NWI3 protocol is not possible because of a deadlock. As a result, many issues can be seen, for example: CM and RNW are not working, Application Launcher shows information “Server is not responding”. Also transferred PM files aren’t deleted from OMS /var/opt/OMSftproot/xmlfiles directory. • TS-RNC-SW-230 : Known Red Hat issues in OMS related to leap second occurrence This Technical Support Note lists all of known issues published by Red Hat related to leap second insertion on December 31st, 2016. These issues were checked on OMS for each of Maintenance Packages released in the past - whether they include some of the affected third-party libraries and what is the outcome of internal testing. The data has been collected and presented in simple tables - one for each system release. This should enable the operator to decide what should be the proper action in order to prepare OMS for that particular leap second insertion event. Internal testing has not been able to find any issues related to leap second insertion using scripts provided in the Red Hat’s announcement but the customer must be informed about known faults even though their impact was not confirmed and as such workaround cannot be provided. In this 6th version of the TNS Nokia will bring new enhanced supervision method to control these units better. New supervision as a default executes recovery action to clear memory errors from the unit. This changes approach if PRFILE setting has been previously set deny unit recovery. Additionally, there is now more fine-tuning choices available for the desired level of recovery. • TS-RNC-HW-0107: Potential memory issue A small proportion of memory components from one supplier may suffer from an abnormal aging effect. The aging leads to the component potentially not recovering to its normal state in a power-off situation, which in those circumstances could prevent the restart of the HW unit. In case of multiple unit failures loss of connectivity to the element is unlikely, but possible. The potentially affected components have been supplied by only one of our multi-source suppliers during 2005-2010, and the aging may be most apparent in a 2-5 year window of use. • TS-RNC-HW-0109: Handling of Faulty DSPs The purpose of this Technical Note is to specify additional guidelines for handling potentially faulty DMCU units where only part of the unit is affected. It should be noted that the operability cost of an RNC network element can be reduced by separating single faulty DSPs in DMCU units instead of replacing the whole unit.
