This is the list of 108 of the most important slokas from the Bhagavad-gita As It Is(1972 Macmillan Edition) by His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada. The index to these verses was taken from the Bhakti-sastri Study Guide compiled by Atmatattva dasa as used by the Bhaktivedanta Academy in Mayapur. [*Note for this collection of slokas, we are using the Original Translations rather than the later re-vised Translations. These were the Translations that Srila Prabhupada approved and which were memorized by heart, by all of the early disciples of His Divine Grace.] These are important verses for memorizing. Srila Prabhupada has said, that when you quote a verse, your argument becomes authoritative. 1.1 dhṛtarāṣ ṛ ṛṭra ṛ uvāca dharma-kṣetre ṛ kuru-kṣetre ṛ samavetā yuyutsavaḥ ṛ māmakāḥ ṛ pāṇ ṛḍavāś ṛ caiva kim akurvata sañjaya dhṛtarāṣ ṛ ṛṭraḥ ṛ ṛ—King Dhṛtarāṣ ṛ ṛṭra; ṛ uvāca—said; dharma-kṣ ṛetre—in the place of pilgrimage; kuru- kṣetre—in ṛ the place named Kurukṣetra;ṛ samavetāḥ ṛ—assembled; yuyatsavaḥ ṛ—desiring to fight; māmakāḥ ṛ—my party (sons); pāṇ ṛḍavāḥ ṛ ṛ—the sons of Pāṇ ṛḍu; ṛ ca—and; eva-certainly; kim—what; akurvata—did they do; sañjaya—O Sañjaya. Please instruct me. 2.11 śrī-bhagavān uvāca aśocyān anvaśocas tvaṁ prajñā-vādāṁś ca bhāṣase ṛ gatāsūn agatāsūṁś ca nānuśocanti paṇ ṛḍitāḥ ṛ ṛ śrī bhagavān uvāca—the Supreme Personality of Godhead said; aśocyān—that which is not worthy of lamentation; anvaśocaḥ ṛ—you are lamenting; tvam—you; prajñā-vādāḥ ṛ—learned talks; ca—also; bhāṣ ṛase—speaking; gata—lost; asūn—life; agata—not past; asūn—life; ca—also; na— never; anuśocanti—lament; paṇ ṛḍitāḥ ṛ ṛ—the learned. The Blessed Lord said: While speaking learned words, you are mourning for what is not worthy of grief. Those who are wise lament neither for the living nor the dead. 2.12 na tv evāhaṁ jātu nāsaṁ na tvaṁ neme janādhipāḥ ṛ na caiva na bhaviṣyāmaḥ ṛ ṛ sarve vayam ataḥ ṛ param na—never; tu—but; eva—certainly; aham—I; jātu—become; na—never; āsam—existed; na—it is not so; tvam—yourself; na—not; ime—all these; janādhipāḥ ṛ—kings; na—never; ca—also; eva— certainly; na—not like that; bhaviṣ ṛyāmaḥ ṛ—shall exist; sarve—all of us; vayam—we; ataḥ ṛ param— hereafter. Never was there a time when I did not exist, nor you, nor all these kings; nor in the future shall any of us cease to be. 2.13 dehino ’smin yathā dehe kaumāraṁ yauvanaṁ jarā tathā dehāntara-prāptir dhīras tatra na muhyati dehinaḥ ṛ—of the embodied; asmin—in this; yathā—as; dehe—in the body; kaumāram—boyhood; yauvanam—youth; jarā—old age; tathā—similarly; dehāntara—transference of the body; prāptiḥ ṛ —achievement; dhīraḥ ṛ—the sober; tatra—thereupon; na—never; muhyati—deluded. As the embodied soul continually passes, in this body, from boyhood to youth to old age, the soul similarly passes into another body at death. The self-realized soul is not bewildered by such a change. 2.14 mātrā-sparśās tu kaunteya śītoṣ ṛṇa-sukha-duḥ ṛ ṛkha-dāḥ ṛ āgamāpāyino ’nityās tāṁs titikṣasva ṛ bhārata mātrā—sensuous; sparśāḥ ṛ—perception; tu—only; kaunteya—O son of Kuntī; śīta—winter; uṣ ṛṇa— ṛ summer; sukha—happiness; duḥ ṛkha-daḥ ṛ—giving pain; āgama—appearing; apāyinaḥ ṛ— disappearing; anityāḥ ṛ—nonpermanent; tān—all of them; titikṣ ṛasva—just try to tolerate; bhārata —O descendant of the Bhārata dynasty. O son of Kuntī, the nonpermanent appearance of happiness and distress, and their disappearance in due course, are like the appearance and disappearance of winter and summer seasons. They arise from sense perception, O scion of Bharata, and one must learn to tolerate them without being disturbed. 2.20 na jāyate mriyate vā kadācin nāyaṁ bhūtvā bhavitā vā na bhūyaḥ ṛ ajo nityaḥ ṛ śāśvato ’yaṁ purāṇ ṛo na hanyate hanyamāne śarīre na—never; jāyate—takes birth; mriyate—never dies; vā—either; kadācit—at any time (past, present or future); na—never; ayam—this; bhūtvā—came into being; bhavitā—will come to be; vā—or; na—not; bhūyaḥ ṛ—or has come to be; ajaḥ ṛ—unborn; nityaḥ ṛ—eternal; śāśvataḥ ṛ— permanent; ayam—this; purāṇ ṛaḥ ṛ—the oldest; na—never; hanyate—is killed; hanyamāne—being killed; śarīre—by the body. For the soul there is never birth nor death. Nor, having once been, does he ever cease to be. He is unborn, eternal, ever-existing, undying and primeval. He is not slain when the body is slain. 2.22 vāsāṁsi jīrṇ ṛāni yathā vihāya navāni gṛhṇṛ ṛāti naro ’parāṇ ṛi tathā śarīrāṇ ṛi vihāya jīrṇ ṛāny anyāni saṁyāti navāni dehī vāsāṁsi—garments; jīrṇ ṛāni—old and worn out; yathā—as it is; vihāya—giving up; navāni—new garments; gṛhṇ ṛ ṛāti—does accept; naraḥ ṛ—a man; aparāṇ ṛi—other; tathā—in the same way; śarīrāṇ ṛi —bodies; vihāya—giving up; jīrṇ ṛāni—old and useless; anyāni—different; saṁyāti—verily accepts; navāni—new sets; dehī—the embodied. As a person puts on new garments, giving up old ones, similarly, the soul accepts new material bodies, giving up the old and useless ones. 2.23 nainaṁ chindanti śastrāṇ ṛi nainaṁ dahati pāvakaḥ ṛ na cainaṁ kledayanty āpo na śoṣayati ṛ mārutaḥ ṛ na—never; enam—unto this soul; chindanti—can cut into pieces; śastrāṇ ṛi —all weapons; na— never; enam—unto this soul; dahati—burns; pāvakaḥ ṛ—fire; na—never; ca—also; enam—unto this soul; kledayanti—moistens; āpaḥ ṛ —water; na—never; śoṣayati—dries; ṛ mārutaḥ ṛ—wind. The soul can never be cut into pieces by any weapon, nor can he be burned by fire, nor moistened by water, nor withered by the wind. 2.27 jātasya hi dhruvo mṛtyur ṛ dhruvaṁ janma mṛtasya ṛ ca tasmād aparihārye ’rthe na tvaṁ śocitum arhasi jātasya—one who has taken his birth; hi—certainly; dhruvaḥ ṛ—a fact; mṛtyuḥ ṛ ṛ—death; dhruvam— it is also a fact; janma—birth; mṛtasya—of ṛ the dead; ca—also; tasmāt—therefore; aparihārye—for that which is unavoidable; arthe—in the matter of; na—do not; tvam—you; śocitum—to lament; arhasi—deserve. mahataḥ ṛ—of very great. vyavasāyātmikā—fixed determination. iha—in this world. vidyate—there is. bhayāt—from danger.For one who has taken his birth. na—never. anantāḥ ṛ—unlimited. tvam—yourself.30 dehī nityam avadhyo ’yaṁ dehe sarvasya bhārata tasmāt sarvāṇ ṛi bhūtāni na tvaṁ śocitum arhasi dehī—the owner of the material body. death is certain. the intelligence of those who are irresolute is many-branched. O descendant of Bharata. birth is certain. nāśaḥ ṛ—loss. tayā —by such things. avyavasāyinām—of those who are not in Kṛ ṛṣ ṛṇa ṛ consciousness. bhūtāni—living entities (that are born). sarvāṇ ṛi—all. 2. svalpam—little. buddhiḥ ṛ—intelligence. and a little advancement on this path can protect one from the most dangerous type of fear. bhārata—O descendant of Bharata. and for one who is dead. bahu-śākhāḥ ṛ—various branches. pratyavāyaḥ ṛ—diminution. trāyate—releases. abhikrama—endeavoring. śocitum —to lament.41 vyavasāyātmikā buddhir ekeha kuru-nandana bahu-śākhā hy anantāś ca buddhayo ’vyavasāyinām vyavasāyātmikā—resolute Kṛ ṛṣ ṛṇa ṛ consciousness. . ca—also. Those who are on this path are resolute in purpose. dehe—in the body. he who dwells in the body is eternal and can never be slain. iha—in this world. 2. asya—of this.44 bhogaiśvarya-prasaktānāṁ tayāpahṛta-cetasām ṛ vyavasāyātmikā buddhiḥ ṛ samādhau na vidhīyate bhoga—material enjoyment. 2. apahṛta-cetasām—bewildered ṛ in mind. buddhayaḥ ṛ—intelligence. avadhyaḥ ṛ—cannot be killed. arhasi— deserve. prasaktānām—those who are so attached. aiśvarya—opulence. In this endeavor there is no loss or diminution. tasmāt —therefore. api—although. kuru-nandana—O beloved child of the Kurus. dharmasya—of this occupation. Therefore. you should not lament. ekā—only one. Therefore you need not grieve for any creature. ayam— this soul. nityam—eternally.40 nehābhikrama-nāśo ’sti pratyavāyo na vidyate sv-alpam apy asya dharmasya trāyate mahato bhayāt na—there is not. 2. and their aim is one. 45 trai-guṇ ṛya-viṣayā ṛ vedā nistrai-guṇ ṛyo bhavārjuna nirdvandvo nitya-sattva-stho niryoga-kṣemaṛ ātmavān traiguṇ ṛya—pertaining to the three modes of material nature. But. vinivartante—are practiced to be refrained from. dṛ ṛṣ vā—by ṛṭ ṛ experiencing.59 viṣayā ṛ vinivartante nirāhārasya dehinaḥ ṛ rasa-varjaṁ raso ’py asya paraṁ dṛ ṛṣ vā ṛṭ ṛ nivartate viṣayāḥ ṛ ṛ—objects for sense enjoyment. All purposes that are served by the small pond can at once be served by the great reservoirs of water. rasa-varjam—giving up the taste. though the taste for sense objects remains. nirāhārasya—by negative restrictions. The embodied soul may be restricted from sense enjoyment. vedeṣ ṛu—Vedic literatures. dehinaḥ ṛ—for the embodied. api—although there is. bhava—be. asya—his. nivartate—ceases from. rasaḥ ṛ—sense of enjoyment. all the purposes of the Vedas can be served to one who knows the purpose behind them. samādhau—in the controlled mind. tāvān—similarly. nirdvandvaḥ ṛ—free from the pains of opposites. sarvataḥ ṛ—in all respects. O Arjuna. ātmavān—established in the Self. Rise above these modes. nistraiguṇ ṛyaḥ ṛ—in a pure state of spiritual existence. and who are bewildered by such things. nitya-sattva-sthaḥ ṛ—ever remaining in sattva (goodness). na—never. he is fixed in consciousness. viṣ ṛayāḥ ṛ—on the subject matter. 2. and be established in the Self.46 yāvān artha udapāne sarvataḥ ṛ samplutodake tāvān sarveṣ ṛu vedeṣuṛ brāhmaṇ ṛasya vijānataḥ ṛ yāvān—all that.62 . Be free from all dualities and from all anxieties for gain and safety. udapāne—in a well of water. ceasing such engagements by experiencing a higher taste. 2. While contemplating the objects of the senses. sarva—all. ātma-vaśyaiḥ ṛ—one who has control over. 2. a person develops attachment for them. When memory is bewildered. tu—but. bhavati—takes place. buddhi-nāśāt—and from loss of intelligence. puṁsaḥ ṛ—of the person. delusion arises. 2. and from such attachment lust develops. saṁmohaḥ ṛ—perfect illusion. saṁyamī—the self-controlled. vibhramaḥ ṛ—bewilderment. One who can control his senses by practicing the regulated principles of freedom can obtain the complete mercy of the Lord and thus become free from all attachment and aversion. kāmaḥ ṛ—desire. sā—that is. saṅgāt—attachment. intelligence is lost. and from lust anger arises. viṣayān—sense ṛ objects. and the time of awakening for all beings is night for the introspective sage. upajāyate—develops. tasyām—in that. kāmāt—from desire. saṅgaḥ ṛ— attachment. vidheyātmā—one who follows regulated freedom. praṇ ṛaśyati—falls down.69 yā niśā sarva-bhūtānāṁ tasyāṁ jāgarti saṁyamī yasyāṁ jāgrati bhūtāni sā niśā paśyato muneḥ ṛ yā—what. yasyām—in which. paśyataḥ ṛ—for the introspective. one falls down again into the material pool. sambhavaḥ ṛ—are made possible. itaraḥ ṛ—common. tat—that. Therefore. O son of Kuntī. Work done as a sacrifice for Viṣ ṛṇuṛ has to be performed. otherwise work binds one to this material world.9 yajñārthāt karmaṇ ṛo ’nyatra loko ’yaṁ karma-bandhanaḥ ṛ tad-arthaṁ karma kaunteya mukta-saṅgaḥ ṛ samācara yajña-arthāt—only for the sake of Yajña. tat—and that alone. karma—prescribed duties. lokaḥ ṛ—all the world. lokaḥ ṛ—this world. 3. manave—unto the father of mankind (of the name Vaivasvata). paramparā—disciplic succession. samudbhavaḥ ṛ—born of. 3. Although I am unborn and My transcendental body never deteriorates. and although I am the Lord of all sentient beings. adhiṣ ṛṭhāya—being ṛ so situated. hi—certainly. abhyutthānam— predominance. dharmasya—of religion. adya—today. 4. mayā—by Me. bhavati—manifested. and the saintly kings understood it in that way. ca—also. bhūtānām—all those who are born. ātmānam—self. and a predominant rise of irreligion—at that time I descend Myself. ātma-māyayā—by My internal energy. sṛjāmi—manifest. That very ancient science of the relationship with the Supreme is today told by Me to you because you are My devotee as well as My friend. ayam—this. ṛ aham—I. aham—I. O Arjuna. prapadyante—surrender. many persons in the past became purifled by knowledge of Me—and thus they all attained transcendental love for Me. upon leaving the body. vartma—path. yuge—after millennium. yuge—millennium. 4.paritrāṇ ṛāya—for the deliverance. One who knows the transcendental nature of My appearance and activities does not. anuvartante—do follow. krodhāḥ ṛ—anger. tyaktvā—leaving aside. evam—like this. as well as to reestablish the principles of religion.9 janma karma ca me divyam evaṁ yo vetti tattvataḥ ṛ tyaktvā dehaṁ punar janma naiti mām eti so ’rjuna janma—birth. manuṣ ṛyāḥ ṛ—all men.10 vīta-rāga-bhaya-krodhā man-mayā mām upāśritāḥ ṛ bahavo jñāna-tapasā pūtā mad-bhāvam āgatāḥ ṛ vīta—freed from. In order to deliver the pious and to annihilate the miscreants. eva—certainly. eti—does attain. tattvataḥ ṛ—in reality. 4. mām—unto Me. mām—unto Me. ca —also. na—never. yaḥ ṛ—anyone who. bhaya—fear. me—of Mine. All of them—as they surrender unto Me—I reward accordingly. saṁsthāpana-arthāya—to reestablish. Everyone follows My path in all respects. āgatāḥ ṛ—attained. many. fear and anger. saḥ ṛ— he. divyam—transcendental.13 cātur-varṇ ṛyaṁ mayā sṛ ṛṣ aṁ ṭṛ ṛ guṇ ṛa-karma-vibhāgaśaḥ ṛ . yathā—as. pūtāḥ ṛ—being purified. sādhūnām—of the devotees. janma—birth. karma—work. but attains My eternal abode. dharma—principles of religion. tān—unto them. mat-mayā—fully in Me. take his birth again in this material world. rāga—attachment. tathā—so. duṣkṛ ṛ tām—of ṛ the miscreants. bhajāmi—do I reward. mat-bhāvam—transcendental love for Me. upāśritāḥ ṛ—being fully situated. vināśāya—for the annihilation. eti—does attain. bahavaḥ ṛ—many. jñāna—knowledge. ca—also. pārtha—O son of Pṛthā. being fully absorbed in Me and taking refuge in Me. mām—Me. 5. ramate —take delight. ṛṭ ṛ guṇ ṛa— quality. you should know that I am yet the non-doer. a dog and a dog-eater [outcaste] . eva—certainly. an elephant. being unchangeable. akartāram—as the non-doer. According to the three modes of material nature and the work ascribed to them. sṛ ṛṣ am—created. vinaya—gentleness. sama- darśinaḥ ṛ—do see with equal vision. śvapāke— in the dog-eater (the outcaste). paṇ ṛḍitāḥ ṛ ṛ—those who are so wise. kaunteya—O son of Kuntī. brāhmaṇ ṛe—in the brāhmaṇ ṛa. eva—certainly. sees with equal vision a learned and gentle brāhmaṇ ṛa. bhogāḥ ṛ— enjoyment. duḥ ṛkha—distress.22 ye hi saṁsparśa-jā bhogā duḥ ṛkha-yonaya eva te ādy-antavantaḥ ṛ kaunteya na teṣuṛ ramate budhaḥ ṛ ye—those. jñāninaḥ ṛ—the self-realized. saṁsparśajāḥ ṛ—by contact with the material senses. Inquire from him submissively and render service unto him. ca—respectively. by virtue of true knowledge. Just try to learn the truth by approaching a spiritual master. The humble sage. viddhi—you may know. hastini—in the elephant. gehe—in the house of. ṛ The sages. sleeping. suhṛdam—benefactor. O son of Kuntī. lokān—planets.An intelligent person does not take part in the sources of misery. such pleasures have a beginning and an end. or into a family of rich aristocracy. and so the wise man does not delight in them. ṛ śāntim—relief from material pangs. 6. jñātvā—thus knowing. bhavati—becomes. samāḥ ṛ—years. is born into a family of righteous people. abhijāyate—takes his birth. tapasām—of penances and austerities. karmasu—in discharging duties.29 bhoktāraṁ yajña-tapasāṁ sarva-loka-maheśvaram suhṛdaṁṛ sarva-bhūtānāṁ jñātvā māṁ śāntim ṛcchati ṛ bhoktāram—beneficiary. after many. mām—Me (Lord Kṛ ṛṣ ṛṇa). 5. ceṣ ṛṭasya—of ṛ one who works for maintenance. attain peace from the pangs of material miseries. bhūtānām—of the living entities.41 prāpya puṇ ṛya-kṛtāṁ ṛ lokān uṣitvā ṛ śāśvatīḥ ṛ samāḥ ṛ śucīnāṁ śrīmatāṁ gehe yoga-bhraṣ ṛṭoṛ ’bhijāyate prāpya—after achieving. ṛcchati—achieves. knowing Me as the ultimate purpose of all sacrifices and austerities. The unsuccessful yogī. śucīnām—of the pious.17 yuktāhāra-vihārasya yukta-ceṣ ṛṭasya ṛ karmasu yukta-svapnāvabodhasya yogo bhavati duḥ ṛkha-hā yukta—regulated. svapna-avabodhasya —regulated sleep and wakefulness. uṣitvā—after ṛ dwelling. maheśvaram—the Supreme Lord. 6. śrīmatām—of the prosperous. working and recreation can mitigate all material pains by practicing the yoga system. 6. śāśvatīḥ ṛ—many. ṛ sarva—all. duḥ ṛkha-hā— diminishing pains. yajña—sacrifices. āhāra—eating. yukta—regulated.47 yoginām api sarveṣāṁ ṛ mad-gatenāntar-ātmanā śraddhāvān bhajate yo māṁ sa me yuktatamo mataḥ ṛ . yogaḥ ṛ—practice of yoga. which are due to contact with the material senses. yukta—regulated. the Supreme Lord of all planets and demigods and the benefactor and well-wisher of all living entities. sarva-loka— all planets and the demigods thereof. He who is temperate in his habits of eating. yoga-bhraṣ ṛṭaḥṛ ṛ—one who is fallen from the path of self- realization. puṇ ṛya-kṛtām—of ṛ those who performed pious activities. vihārasya—recreation. many years of enjoyment on the planets of the pious living entities. idam—this. sahasreṣ ṛu—out of many thousands. siddhaye—for perfection. worshiping Me in transcendental loving service. 7. iti—thus. anyām—another.3 manuṣyāṇ ṛ ṛāṁ sahasreṣuṛ kaścid yatati siddhaye yatatām api siddhānāṁ kaścin māṁ vetti tattvataḥ ṛ manuṣyāṇ ṛ ṛām—of men. api—also.5 apareyam itas tv anyāṁ prakṛtiṁ ṛ viddhi me parām jīva-bhūtāṁ mahā-bāho yayedaṁ dhāryate jagat aparā—inferior. tattvataḥ ṛ—in fact. mām—Me. iyam—all these. jagat—the material world. intelligence and false ego—altogether these eight comprise My separated material energies. antaḥ ṛ- ātmanā—always thinking of Me within. āpaḥ ṛ—water. one may endeavor for perfection. sarveṣām—all ṛ types of. kaścit—someone. ca—and. prakṛtim—energy. Besides this inferior nature. 7. mat-gatena—abiding in Me. me— Mine. he who always abides in Me with great faith. yuktatamaḥ ṛ—the greatest yogī. aṣ ṛṭadhā—total ṛ eight. is most intimately united with Me in yoga and is the highest of all. siddhānām—of those who have achieved perfection. me—My. air. 7. śraddhāvān—in full faith. yatatām—of those so endeavoring. 7. mind. vāyuḥ ṛ—air. dhāryate—being utilized or exploited. ṛ viddhi—just try to understand. iyam—this. O mighty-armed Arjuna. and of those who have achieved perfection. buddhiḥ ṛ— intelligence.4 bhūmir āpo ’nalo vāyuḥ ṛ khaṁ mano buddhir eva ca ahaṅkāra itīyaṁ me bhinnā prakṛtir ṛ aṣ ṛṭadhā ṛ bhūmiḥ ṛ—earth. hardly one knows Me in truth. api—indeed.yoginām—of all yogīs. Out of many thousands among men. mataḥ ṛ—is considered. kaścit—someone. mām—Me (the Supreme Lord). eva—certainly. itaḥ ṛ—besides this. prakṛtiḥ ṛ ṛ—energies. mahā-bāho—O mighty-armed one. yatati—endeavors. which are all living entities who are struggling with material nature and are sustaining the universe. yaḥ ṛ—one who. parām—superior. fire. jīva-bhūtām—the living entities. manaḥ ṛ—mind. analaḥ ṛ—fire. there is a superior energy of Mine. bhajate—renders transcendental loving service. bhinnā—separated. yayā—by whom. duratyayā—very difficult to overcome.14 daivī hy eṣāṛ guṇ ṛa-mayī mama māyā duratyayā mām eva ye prapadyante māyām etāṁ taranti te daivī—transcendental.16 catur-vidhā bhajante māṁ janāḥ ṛ sukṛtino ṛ ’rjuna ārto jijñāsur arthārthī jñānī ca bharatarṣabha ṛ catur-vidhāḥ ṛ—four kinds of. Everything rests upon Me. āśritāḥ ṛ—accepting. mayi—in Me. mām—unto Me. na—not. four kinds of pious men render devotional service unto Me—the distressed. bhajante—render services. duṣ ṛkṛtinaḥṛ ṛ—miscreants. protam—strung. apahṛta—stolen ṛ by illusion. as pearls are strung on a thread. O best among the Bhāratas [Arjuna]. 7. prapadyante—surrender. parataram—superior. 7. mām—unto Me. But those who have surrendered unto Me can easily cross beyond it. māyā—energy. 7. narādhamāḥ ṛ—lowest among mankind. eva—certainly. te—they. sarvam—all that be. jijñāsuḥ ṛ—the inquisitive. Those miscreants who are grossly foolish. the inquisitive. janāḥ ṛ—persons. O conquerer of wealth [Arjuna]. mūḍ ṛhāḥ ṛ—foolish. asti—there is. ye—those.mayi sarvam idaṁ protaṁ sūtre maṇ ṛi-gaṇ ṛā iva mattaḥ ṛ—beyond Myself. whose knowledge is stolen by illusion. guṇ ṛamayī—consisting of the three modes of material nature. taranti—overcome. mama—My. is difficult to overcome. consisting of the three modes of material nature. bhāvam—nature. māyām etām—this illusory energy. do not surrender unto Me. artha-arthī—one who desires material gain. This divine energy of Mine. the desirer of wealth.15 na māṁ duṣkṛ ṛ tino ṛ mūḍ ṛhāḥ ṛ prapadyante narādhamāḥ ṛ māyayāpahṛta-jñānā ṛ āsuraṁ bhāvam āśritāḥ ṛ na—not. anyat—anything else. 7. there is no Truth superior to Me. sūtre—on a thread. iva—likened. sukṛtinaḥ ṛ ṛ—those who are pious. mām—unto Me. lowest among mankind. and who partake of the atheistic nature of demons. prapadyante—surrender. bharatarṣ ṛabha—O great one amongst the descendants of Bharata. asuram—demonic.19 . dhanañjaya—O conquerer of wealth. ārtaḥ ṛ—the distressed. jñānī—one who knows things as they are. maṇ ṛi-gaṇ ṛāḥ ṛ—pearls. hi—certainly. māyayā—by the illusory energy. ca—also. eṣ ṛā—this. jñānāḥ ṛ—knowledge. kiñcit— something. and he who is searching for knowledge of the Absolute. idam—which we see. arjuna—O Arjuna. ante—after. as the Supreme Personality of Godhead. he who is actually in knowledge surrenders unto Me. atītāni—past. knowing Me to be the cause of all causes and all that is. iti—thus. 7. 7. yoga-māyā—internal potency. aham—I.27 icchā-dveṣa-samutthena ṛ dvandva-mohena bhārata sarva-bhūtāni sammohaṁ sarge yānti parantapa icchā—desire. tu—but. yānti—go. janmanām—births. na—not. samāvṛtaḥ ṛ ṛ—covered. Such a great soul is very rare.28 . mohena—overcome. dveṣa—hate. jñānavān—he possessing knowledge. sammoham—into delusion. sama—equally. abhijānāti—can understand. ṛ samutthena—born. bhūtāni—living entities. who am unborn and infallible. avyayam—inexhaustible. veda—knows. saḥ ṛ— such. prakāśaḥ ṛ—manifest. ca—also. O Arjuna. dvandva—duality. all living entities are born into delusion. vāsudevaḥ ṛ—cause of all causes.25 nāhaṁ prakāśaḥ ṛ sarvasya yoga-māyā-samāvṛtaḥ ṛ ṛ mūḍ ṛho ’yaṁ nābhijānāti loko mām ajam avyayam na—nor. lokaḥ ṛ —such less intelligent persons. sarva—all. but Me no one knows. bhūtāni—living entities. mām—Me. mahātmā—great soul. prapadyate—surrenders. mām—Me. ca—and. sarvam—all. bhaviṣ ṛyāṇ ṛi—future. For them I am covered by My eternal creative potency [yoga-māyā]. and so the deluded world knows Me not. overcome by the dualities of desire and hate. I am never manifest to the foolish and unintelligent. vartamānāni—present. all that is happening in the present. mām— unto Me. parantapa—O conquerer of enemies. O conquerer of the foe. sarvasya—to everyone.26 vedāhaṁ samatītāni vartamānāni cārjuna bhaviṣyāṇ ṛ ṛi ca bhūtāni māṁ tu veda na kaścana veda—know. kaścana—anyone. aham—I. na—not. sudurlabhaḥ ṛ—very rare. ayam—this. bhārata —O scion of Bharata. sarge—in creation. mūḍ ṛhaḥ ṛ—foolish. 7. O scion of Bharata [Arjuna]. I know everything that has happened in the past. ajam—unborn.bahūnāṁ janmanām ante jñānavān māṁ prapadyate vāsudevaḥ ṛ sarvam iti sa mahātmā su-durlabhaḥ ṛ bahūnām—many. and all things that are yet to come. I also know all living entities. 7. arjuna—O Arjuna. After many births and deaths. mad-bhāvam— My nature. kaunteya—O son of Kuntī. buddhiḥ ṛ—intellect. puṇ ṛya—pious. ṛ mām—unto Me. ante—at the end. Persons who have acted piously in previous lives and in this life. saṁśayaḥ ṛ—doubt. 8. you should always think of Me in the form of Kṛ ṛṣ ṛṇaṛ and at the same time carry out your prescribed duty of fighting. mām—unto Me. ca—also. saḥ ṛ—he. dṛ ṛḍha-vratāḥ ṛ ṛ—with determination. tat—that. mām—unto Me. kalevaram—this body. dvandva—duality. te—they. smaran—remembering. asti—there is. vā—either. prayāti—goes. yati—achieves. eva—certainly. ṛ tu—but. And whoever. at once attains My nature. that state he will attain without fail. Of this there is no doubt. eva—certainly.7 tasmāt sarveṣuṛ kāleṣuṛ mām anusmara yudhya ca mayy arpita-mano-buddhir mām evaiṣyasyṛ asaṁśayaḥ ṛ tasmāt—therefore. quits his body. karmaṇ ṛām—previous activities. Whatever state of being one remembers when he quits his body. nirmuktāḥ ṛ—free from. anta-gatam—completely eradicated. kalevaram—the body. muktvā—quitting. Therefore. eṣyasi—will ṛ attain. manaḥ ṛ—mind. moha— delusion. mayi—unto Me.yeṣāṁ ṛ tv anta-gataṁ pāpaṁ janānāṁ puṇ ṛya-karmaṇ ṛām te dvandva-moha-nirmuktā bhajante māṁ dṛ ṛḍha-vratāḥ ṛ ṛ yeṣām—whose. at the time of death. engage themselves in My service with determination. mām—Me. yudhya—fight. api—also. tam tam—similar. janānām—of the persons. smaran—remembering. anusmara—go on remembering. 8. atra—here.5 anta-kāle ca mām eva smaran muktvā kalevaram yaḥ ṛ prayāti sa mad-bhāvaṁ yāti nāsty atra saṁśayaḥ ṛ anta-kāle—at the end of life. ca—also. arpita—surrender. bhāvam—nature. Arjuna. bhāva—state of being. 8. asaṁśayaḥ ṛ—beyond a doubt. With your activities . sarveṣ ṛu—always. sadā—always. bhāvitaḥ ṛ— remembering. remembering Me alone. tyajati— give up. pāpam—sin. kāleṣu—time. yaḥ ṛ—he who. eva—surely. eti—gets. whose sinful actions are completely eradicated and who are freed from the duality of delusion. na—not. bhajante—worship.6 yaṁ yaṁ vāpi smaran bhāvaṁ tyajaty ante kalevaram taṁ tam evaiti kaunteya sadā tad-bhāva-bhāvitaḥ ṛ yam yam—whatever. 14 ananya-cetāḥ ṛ satataṁ yo māṁ smarati nityaśaḥ ṛ tasyāhaṁ sulabhaḥ ṛ pārtha nitya-yuktasya yoginaḥ ṛ ananya-cetāḥ ṛ—without deviation. which is full of miseries. punaḥ ṛ janma—rebirth. duḥ ṛkha-ālayam—place of miseries.15 mām upetya punar janma duḥ ṛkhālayam aśāśvatam nāpnuvanti mahātmānaḥ ṛ saṁsiddhiṁ paramāṁ gatāḥ ṛ mām—unto Me. all are places of misery wherein repeated birth and death take place. lokāḥ ṛ—planets. ṛ atyeti— . paramām—ultimate. eva—certainly. yuktasya—engaged. janma—birth. 8. sacrifice. ṛ nitya—regularly. who are yogīs in devotion. 8. ṛ smarati— remembers. punaḥ ṛ—again. But one who attains to My abode. mām—Me (Kṛ ṛṣ ṛṇa). After attaining Me. aśāśvatam—temporary. arjuna—O Arjuna. yat—that which. āpnuvanti—attain. dāneṣ ṛu—in giving charities. gatāḥ ṛ—achieved. mahātmānaḥ ṛ—the great souls. I am easy to obtain. pārtha—O son of Pṛthā. you will attain Me without doubt. 8. vidyate—takes to. the great souls.dedicated to Me and your mind and intelligence fixed on Me. sulabhaḥ ṛ—very easy to achieve. na—never. O son of Pṛthā. punaḥ ṛ—again. nityaśaḥ ṛ—regularly. upetya—arriving. āvartinaḥ ṛ—returning.28 vedeṣuṛ yajñeṣuṛ tapaḥ ṛsu caiva dāneṣuṛ yat puṇ ṛya-phalaṁ pradiṣ ṛṭam ṛ atyeti tat sarvam idaṁ viditvā yogī paraṁ sthānam upaiti cādyam vedeṣu—in ṛ the study of the Vedas. never return to this temporary world.16 ā-brahma-bhuvanāl lokāḥ ṛ punar āvartino ’rjuna mām upetya tu kaunteya punar janma na vidyate ābrahma—up to the Brahmaloka planet. ṛ because of his constant engagement in devotional service. tu— but. O son of Kuntī. 8. puṇ ṛya-phalam—the result of pious work. upetya—achieving. never takes birth again. tapaḥ ṛsu— undergoing different types of austerities. kaunteya—O son of Kuntī. satatam—always. yaḥ ṛ—anyone. bhuvanāt—from the planetary systems. From the highest planet in the material world down to the lowest. yoginaḥ ṛ—of the devotee. because they have attained the highest perfection. na—never. For one who remembers Me without deviation. pradiṣ ṛṭam—directed. ca—also. mām—unto Me. yajñeṣu—in ṛ the performances of yajña. tasya—to him. aham—I am. saṁsiddhim—perfection. anena—this. yogī—the devotee. 9. 9. param—supreme. sthānam—abode.11 avajānanti māṁ mūḍ ṛhā mānuṣīṁ ṛ tanum āśritam . At the end he reaches the supreme abode. viditvā—knowing. pratyakṣ ṛa—directly experienced. sarvam idam—all those described above. idam—all these manifestations. idam—this. and it is producing all moving and unmoving beings. O son of Kuntī. By its rule this manifestation is created and annihilated again and again. avyayam—everlasting. adhyakṣ ṛeṇ ṛa—by superintendence. tat—all those. sūyate—manifest. It is everlasting. kartum—to execute.4 mayā tatam idaṁ sarvaṁ jagad avyakta-mūrtinā mat-sthāni sarva-bhūtāni na cāhaṁ teṣvṛ avasthitaḥ ṛ mayā—by Me. avagamam —understood. performing austere sacrifices. tatam—spread. hetunā—for this reason. rāja-guhyam—the king of confidential knowledge.10 mayādhyakṣeṇ ṛ ṛa prakṛtiḥ ṛ ṛ sūyate sa-carācaram hetunānena kaunteya jagad viparivartate mayā—by Me. All beings are in Me. mat-sthāni—unto Me. giving charity or pursuing philosophical and fruitive activities. aham—I. uttamam—transcendental. susukham—very happy. By Me. carācaram—moving and nonmoving. 9. teṣ ṛu—in them.2 rāja-vidyā rāja-guhyaṁ pavitram idam uttamam pratyakṣāvagamaṁ ṛ dharmyaṁ su-sukhaṁ kartum avyayam rāja-vidyā—the king of education. kaunteya—O son of Kuntī. sarva-bhūtāni—all living entities. in My unmanifested form. sarvam—all. This knowledge is the king of education. avyakta-mūrtinā—unmanifested form. and it is joyfully performed. A person who accepts the path of devotional service is not bereft of the results derived from studying the Vedas. it is the perfection of religion. It is the purest knowledge. This material nature is working under My direction. sa —with. jagat—the cosmic manifestation. jagat—cosmic manifestation. but I am not in them. ca—also. ca—also.surpasses. viparivartate—is working. the most secret of all secrets. and because it gives direct perception of the self by realization. na—not. dharmyam—the principle of religion. avasthitaḥ ṛ—situated. prakṛtiḥ ṛ ṛ—material nature. this entire universe is pervaded. ādyam—original. 9. upaiti—achieved peace. pavitram— the purest. 9. 9. tanum— body. śritāḥ ṛ—taking shelter of. bhaktyā—in devotion. bhūta—everything that be.13 mahātmānas tu māṁ pārtha daivīṁ prakṛtim ṛ āśritāḥ ṛ bhajanty ananya-manaso jñātvā bhūtādim avyayam mahātmānaḥ ṛ—the great souls. ṛ mohinīm—bewildering. 9.22 . ṛ daivīm—divine. mām—unto Me. their hopes for liberation. these great souls perpetually worship Me with devotion. bowing down before Me. their fruitive activities. nitya-yuktāḥ ṛ—perpetually engaged. namasyantaḥ ṛ ca—offering obeisances. bhūta—creation. prakṛtim—nature. Those who are thus bewildered are attracted by demonic and atheistic views. Always chanting My glories. pārtha—O son of Pṛthā. bhāvam—nature. and their culture of knowledge are all defeated.paraṁ bhāvam ajānanto mama bhūta-maheśvaram avajānanti—deride. 9. rākṣ ṛasīm—demonic. jñātvā—knowing. bhajanti—render service. yatantaḥ ṛ ca—fully endeavoring also. ajānantaḥ ṛ—not knowing. mām—Me. ananya-manasaḥ ṛ—without deviation of the mind. prakṛtim—nature. āśritam—assuming. dṛ ṛḍha- ṛ vratāḥ ṛ—with determination. Fools deride Me when I descend in the human form. endeavoring with great determination.12 moghāśā mogha-karmāṇ ṛo mogha-jñānā vicetasaḥ ṛ rākṣasīm ṛ āsurīṁ caiva prakṛtiṁṛ mohinīṁ śritāḥ ṛ moghāśāḥ ṛ—baffled hope. mogha-jñānāḥ ṛ— baffled in knowledge. mogha-karmāṇ ṛaḥ ṛ—baffled in fruitive activities. In that deluded condition. āsurīm—atheistic. mām—Me. mām—unto Me. avyayam— inexhaustible.14 satataṁ kīrtayanto māṁ yatantaś ca dṛ ṛḍha-vratāḥ ṛ ṛ namasyantaś ca māṁ bhaktyā nitya-yuktā upāsate satatam—always. They are fully engaged in devotional service because they know Me as the Supreme Personality of Godhead. mūḍ ṛhāḥ ṛ—foolish men. maheśvaram—supreme proprietor. They do not know My transcendental nature and My supreme dominion over all that be. param—transcendental. original and inexhaustible. tu—but. O son of Pṛthā. the great souls. mānuṣ ṛīm—in a human form. vicetasaḥ ṛ—bewildered. ca—and. kīrtayantaḥ ṛ—chanting. ṛ those who are not deluded. mama—Mine. upāsate—worship. eva—certainly. ādim—original. are under the protection of the divine nature. ṛ āśritāḥ ṛ—taken shelter of. devān—to demigods.ananyāś cintayanto māṁ ye janāḥ ṛ paryupāsate teṣāṁ ṛ nityābhiyuktānāṁ yoga-kṣemaṁ ṛ vahāmy aham ananyāḥ ṛ—no other. a flower. as well as all austerities that you may perform. should be done as an offering unto Me. yānti—go. bhūtejyāḥ ṛ—worshipers of ghosts and spirits. cintayantaḥ ṛ—concentrating. karoṣ ṛi—you do. mat—My. all that you do. ye—who. bhūtāni—to ghosts and spirits. aśnāsi—you eat. all that you offer and give away. 9. Those who worship the demigods will take birth among the demigods. mām—unto Me. mat—unto Me. meditating on My transcendental form— to them I carry what they lack and preserve what they have. pitṛ-vratāḥ ṛ ṛ—worshipers of ancestors. tat—that. 9. prayacchati—offers. ṛ nitya—always abhiyuktānām—fixed in devotion. janāḥ ṛ—persons. those who worship ancestors go to the ancestors.29 . deva-vratāḥ ṛ—worshipers of demigods. O son of Kuntī. yānti—go. kaunteya—O son of Kuntī. vahāmi—carry. yoga-kṣ ṛemam—requirements. aham—I. bhaktyā—with devotion. all that you eat. yat—whatever. yat—whatever. pitṝn—to ancestors. yājinaḥ ṛ—devotees. mām—unto Me. aham—I. phalam—a fruit. tapasyasi—austerities you perform. api—also. tat—that. and those who worship Me will live with Me. If one offers Me with love and devotion a leaf. dadāsi—you give away. arpaṇ ṛam—offering. teṣām—their. 9. yaḥ ṛ—whoever. yat—whatever. juhoṣi—you ṛ offer. prayata-ātmanaḥ ṛ—of one in pure consciousness.25 yānti deva-vratā devān pitṝn yānti pitṛ-vratāḥ ṛ ṛ bhūtāni yānti bhūtejyā yānti mad-yājino ’pi mām yānti—achieve.27 yat karoṣiṛ yad aśnāsi yaj juhoṣiṛ dadāsi yat yat tapasyasi kaunteya tat kuruṣvaṛ mad-arpaṇ ṛam yat—what. paryupāsate—properly worship. Everything emanates from Me. mām —about Me. dīpena—with the lamp. surely you will come to Me.9 mac-cittā mad-gata-prāṇ ṛā bodhayantaḥ ṛ parasparam kathayantaś ca māṁ nityaṁ tuṣyanti ṛ ca ramanti ca mat-cittāḥ ṛ—minds fully engaged in Me. bhāsvatā—glowing. buddhi-yogam—real intelligence. ātma—within. dadāmi—I give. bhajante—becomes devoted. 10.ṛ bodhayantaḥ ṛ—preaching. matvā—knowing. I give the understanding by which they can come to Me. To those who are constantly devoted and worship Me with love. te—they. satata-yuktānām—always engaged. tamaḥ ṛ—darkness. jñāna—of knowledge. iti—thus. offer obeisances and worship Me. anukampā-artham—to show special mercy. Being completely absorbed in Me. and they derive great satisfaction and bliss enlightening one another and conversing about Me.11 teṣāmṛ evānukampārtham aham ajñāna-jaṁ tamaḥ ṛ nāśayāmy ātma-bhāva-stho jñāna-dīpena bhāsvatā teṣām—for ṛ them. I am the source of all spiritual and material worlds. aham—I. mattaḥ ṛ—from Me. prīti- pūrvakam—in loving ecstasy. sarvam— everything. upayānti—come. ca—also. Thus you will live in Me always. 12. My dear Arjuna. then follow the regulated principles of bhakti-yoga In this way you will develop a desire to attain to Me. api—even. It should be understood that all species of life. śaknoṣ ṛi—able.10 abhyāse ’py asamartho ’si mat-karma-paramo bhava mad-artham api karmāṇ ṛi kurvan siddhim avāpsyasi abhyāse—in the practice of. If you cannot practice the regulations of bhakti-yoga. samatītya—transcending. dhanañjaya—O Arjuna.4 sarva-yoniṣuṛ kaunteya mūrtayaḥ ṛ sambhavanti yāḥ ṛ tāsāṁ brahma mahad yonir ahaṁ bīja-pradaḥ ṛ pitā sarva-yoniṣ ṛu—in all species of life. The living entities in this conditioned world are My eternal. sūryaḥ ṛ—sun. vimuktāḥ ṛ—liberated. Due to conditioned life. electricity. pratiṣ ṛṭhā—the ṛ rest. hi—certainly. ca—and. vinivṛtta—associated. avyayam—eternal.śāśvatasya ca dharmasya sukhasyaikāntikasya ca brahmaṇ ṛaḥ ṛ—of the impersonal brahmajyoti. dharmasya—of the constitutional position. śaśāṅkaḥ ṛ—the moon. 15. eva—certainly. gacchanti—attains. false prestige. jīva-loke—world of conditional life. jita—having conquered. which include the mind. imperishable and eternal. na—nor. karṣ ṛati—struggling hard. and which is immortal. bhāsayate—illuminates. amṛtasya—of ṛ the imperishable. ṣaṣ ṛ ṛṭhāni—six. manaḥ ṛ—mind. and false association. māna—respect. fragmental parts. One who reaches it never returns to this material world. mohāḥ ṛ—illusion. which is the constitutional position of ultimate happiness. dvandvaiḥ ṛ—with duality. I am seated in everyone’s heart. vedānta-kṛt—the ṛ compiler of the Vedānta. Whoever knows Me as the Supreme Personality of Godhead. purity. veda-vit—the knower of the Vedas. ca—also. śaucam—purity. jānāti—knows. jñānam—wisdom. eva—certainly. knowledge and forgetfulness. kṣ ṛāntiḥ ṛ— tolerance. wisdom. bhajati—renders devotional service.15 sarvasya cāhaṁ hṛdi ṛ sanniviṣ ṛṭoṛ mattaḥ ṛ smṛtir ṛ jñānam apohanaṁ ca vedaiś ca sarvair aham eva vedyo vedānta-kṛdṛ veda-vid eva cāham sarvasya—of all living beings. āstikyam—religiousness. mām—unto Me. ca—and. ca—and. indeed I am the compiler of Vedānta. One who is thus transcendentally situated at once realizes the Supreme Brahman. O Arjuna. abhijānāti—one can know. na—never. cet—if. sarva—all. māyayā—under the spell of material energy. who are seated as on a machine. If. prasanna-ātmā—fully joyful. tat—thereafter. 18. And when one is in full consciousness of the Supreme Lord by such devotion. śocati— laments. He never laments nor desires to have anything. you do not work in such consciousness but act through false ego. mām—Me. made of the material energy. 18. vinaṅkṣ ṛyasi—then lose yourself. 18. ṛ satyam—truly. te—to you. ca—and. pratijāne—I promise. kaścit—anyone. devotional service is guaranteed. guhyam—confidential. mām—unto Me. me—My. anyaḥ ṛ—other. eva—certainly. priya-kṛttamaḥ ṛ ṛ—more dear. vraja—go. tvām—you. 18. Always think of Me and become My devotee. śaraṇ ṛam—surrender. and at the end he will come back to Me. ekam—only. asi—you are. mat-bhaktaḥ ṛ—My devotee. mām—unto Me. śucaḥ ṛ—worry. mām—unto Me.69 na ca tasmān manuṣyeṣ ṛ uṛ kaścin me priya-kṛttamaḥ ṛ ṛ bhavitā na ca me tasmād anyaḥ ṛ priyataro bhuvi na—never. ṛ mā—not. eva—certainly. I shall deliver you from all sinful reaction. bhava—just become. kṛtvā—having ṛ done. There is no servant in this world more dear to Me than he. me— My. namaskuru—offer your obeisances. 18. mokṣayiṣ ṛ yāmi—deliver. Thus you will come to Me without fail. tasmāt—therefore. sarva—all. na—no. bhavitā—will become. bhaktim—devotional service. idam—this. pāpebhyaḥ ṛ—from sinful reactions. Abandon all varieties of religion and just surrender unto Me. mat-yājī—My worshiper. aham—I. Worship Me and offer your homage unto Me. bhakteṣ ṛu— amongst devotees of. eṣ ṛyati—comes. me—My. mat—Mine. 18. asaṁśayaḥ ṛ—without doubt. parām—transcendental. mayi—unto Me.68 ya idaṁ paramaṁ guhyaṁ mad-bhakteṣvṛ abhidhāsyati bhaktiṁ mayi parāṁ kṛtvā ṛ mām evaiṣyaty ṛ asaṁśayaḥ ṛ yaḥ ṛ—anyone.66 sarva-dharmān parityajya mām ekaṁ śaraṇ ṛaṁ vraja ahaṁ tvāṁ sarva-pāpebhyo mokṣayiṣṛ yāmi ṛ mā śucaḥ ṛ sarva-dharmān—all varieties of religion. parityajya—abandoning. priyataraḥ ṛ—dearer. bhuvi—in this world. abhidhāsyati—explains. tasmāt—than him. eṣyasi—come. For one who explains the supreme secret to the devotees. mām—unto Me.78 . paramam—most. manuṣyeṣ ṛ u—among ṛ mankind. ca—and. nor will there ever be one more dear.man-manā bhava mad-bhakto mad-yājī māṁ namaskuru mām evaiṣyasi ṛ satyaṁ te pratijāne priyo ’si me man-manāḥ ṛ—thinking of Me. prijaḥ ṛ—dear. Do not fear. I promise you this because you are My very dear friend. śrīḥ ṛ— opulence. extraordinary power. and wherever there is Arjuna. That is my opinion. victory. tatra—there. . yatra—where. there will also certainly be opulence.yatra yogeśvaraḥ ṛ kṛ ṛṣ ṛṇoṛ yatra pārtho dhanur-dharaḥ ṛ tatra śrīr vijayo bhūtir dhruvā nītir matir mama yatra—where.ṛ the master of all mystics. kṛ ṛṣ ṛṇaḥṛ ṛ—Lord Krṣ ṛna. pārthaḥ ṛ —the son of Pṛthā. yogeśvaraḥ ṛ—the master of mysticism. ṛ dhanur-dharaḥ ṛ—the carrier of the bow and arrow. and morality. bhūtiḥ ṛ—exceptional power. vijayaḥ ṛ—victory. the supreme archer. nītiḥ ṛ—morality. Wherever there is Kṛ ṛṣ ṛṇa. matiḥ ṛ mama—is my opinion. dhruvā—certainly.
