Course Component Course Code Course Name Prerequisite Course Credits Contact Hours/ Week Course Description Language Curriculum for Secondary Schools 3 Units Provides familiarization on the components of a language curriculum-its theoretical underpinnings, content, and development process as bases for evaluating the current Secondary Education Language Program and for designing future language programs suitable to Philippine setting. Also includes proper interpretation of defined competencies. Program Outcomes Common to Teacher Education 1. Articulate the relationship of education to larger historical, social, cultural and political processes. (NCBTS Domain 1Social Regard for Learning) 2. Facilitate learning using a wide range of teaching methodologies in various types of environment. (NCBTS Domain 2-Learning Environment) 3. Apply skills in curriculum development, lesson planning, materials development, instructional delivery and educational assessment. (NCBTS Domain 4-Curriculum) 5. Practice professional and ethical teaching standards to respond to the demands of the Performance indicators  Generate opportunities for reflection on historical, social, cultural and political processes as they affect the day to day lives of the students.  Actively engages students to sustain interest in the subject matter. Implements learner-friendly classroom management procedures and practices.            Use varied teaching methodologies appropriate for diverse learners. Evaluate current teaching approaches and innovate based on learners’ needs. Implement and evaluate the curriculum. Effectively write and carry out the lesson plan with mastery. Deliver interesting lessons with congruent objectives, subject matter, teaching-learning activities, materials and assessment procedures. Source and organize data and information concerning teaching and learning. Analyze and interpret data and information using appropriate tools and procedures. Compose and disseminate properly well-written reports (progress reports, assessment, official communications, among others). Behave in accordance to the Code of Ethics of Professional Teachers.
