[email protected] It says that the marriage is made in the heavens. Accordingly it is a wonderful story in most of the married persons that how they met, carried on and tie the knot. In our Eastern culture, most of the marriages are arranged by the parents by matching the horoscopes and with the other agreements, they say I do. In some cases, no matching of birth charts or any other needs are considered, but love at first sight makes the couple to get together and live happily. Or else by meeting at a party or any such place, they consent for marriage, whether the horoscopes are matched or not, they happily live together. In the Eastern system of astrology, we have a number of methods and laws for checking about the compatibility for marriage. Mainly the seventh bhava of the birth chart indicates the nature of marriage and all the other details such as the method of meeting, nature of the partner, longevity etc. regarding the marriage. The Lagna bhava shows the characteristics of the native and his capabilities etc. The seventh bhava, which is the opposite of lagna, shows about the partners in marriage or in business or opponents also. Any one dealing with the native is shown in the seventh bhava. The seventh bhava is on the exact opposite of the lagna bhava, Therefore if the lagna bhava is rectified, we know that the seventh bhava also get rectified automatically. When the birth chart is analysed for marriage, we see that the seventh bahva for identification of the partner. Second bhava for the development or increase of the family by marriage and by eleventh bhava, the expectation or the fulfilment of the desire. In Krishnamurthi Paddhathi, profound by the late Guruji KSK, we give a very important place to the seventh bhava sputa and its lords as sign, star and sub in the consideration of the marriage. The sub lord is the deciding factor. If the sub lord of the seventh cusp is a significator for the second or seventh or eleventh bahavas, the native is destined to get married. In this birth chart, the seventh bhava falls in the sign of Gemini, in a star of Rahu and in a sub of Kethu. This Kethu is in the sub of Mercury, lord of 7; No planet in the star of Kethu and Kethu is CSL of 7. So marriage is promised to the native. This sub lord Kethu is aspected in trine by Jupiter. So the native is very shy and slow in marriage matters and he will go for genuine way due to the good aspect of Jupiter. There has been a delay in getting married from the normal age of this native. This is due to the nature of Kethu, and also due to the influence of Jupiter. He had got married by a proposal made by his parents with the consent of all the parties concerned. In this birth chart, the significators for the marriage are; Second bhava: Seventh bhava: Eleventh bhava: Saturn, Sun, Jupiter, Venus and Moon Mercury and Rahu Saturn, Sun and Venus As all these planets are not powerful in giving the marriage, it is necessary to select the fruitful planets. This is done by selecting the planets, which are deposited in positive constellations and subs for marriage. Sun is in a star of Venus, connected with second and eleventh bhavas and in a sub of Saturn, lord of second house. Moon is in a star of Saturn, is lord of second house, not in signification. Mercury is in a star and sub of Moon, not related to 2,7,11, although Mercury is lord of seventh. Jupiter is in a star of Moon, in second and in a sub of its own. Venus is is in 2nd and lord of 11th and it is in a star of Mars, and in a sub of Rahu. Saturn is in a star of Venus in 2 and lord of 11 and in a sub of Kethu, also a strong significator for seventh bhava as having no planet in Ketu star and Ketu is CSL of 7. In the old Astrology & Athrishta, January to December 1967 monthly issues, it has been read that: 1) 2) 3) 4) All articles say to check Lagna and Moon, which is stronger; No sub lord analysis at all; No significator table at all; No 1-249 sub number but 1-108 number is used. Nothing seems as per KP in the KP six Readers. Can you tell when the sub number 1-249 and sub checking were started? In my opinion craze for old issues of A & A is not worthy. Answer 1. Checking Lagna and Moon, which is stronger 1. In the Krishnamurti Padhdhati, 2 volumes set, first edition, was published in late 1966 by Sagar Publications. In the volume 2, out of many solved examples, in some examples like in pp 82, 118, 255, 261-262, 264, 313, 316, it was ascertained whether Lagna is strong or the Moon sign, and the Moon sign was taken as the first house in the two examples of pp 118 and 264. It is therefore to check Lagna and Moon, which is stronger. But the further research reveals the correct approach is to take always Lagna alone, and the correction was made by Guruji KSK in the KP Reader III, first published in October 1971, Practical Part, p 85/ New Edition pp 243-244 as below: Disposal of a House A building is indicated by the 4th house counted from Lagna. Always count from the Lagna. Never consider whether Moon sign is strong or Lagna is strong. In the research after 1967 it was found that we have to take always Lagna alone. We should never Judge which is stronger whether Moon sign or Lagna. The main reason is that in a twin birth, only the cusps of the house including the ascendant change whereas Moon is in the same position. What we had been following in KP printed in 1966, is to be give up. Also in KP Reader III, 1971 Edition, Practical Part, p 259/ New Edition pp 432-433: Why Lagna alone is considered? Dear Sir, I find in your Magazine, that since a couple of years, you are not suggesting that the Moon sign should be taken in case the lagna is afflicted and Moon sign is not. Why? Answer: Sir, I had been following the above method of taking the unafflicted ascendant or Moon sign, in case the lagna is afflicted and Moon sign is not. But in my research only in 1965 end, I understood that when twins are born, Moon does not move a single minute, whereas the lagna alone moves and when the research on the sub-lord, came out successful to read out the diametrically opposite results among the twins, I have given up the idea of taking Moon sign, in case lagna is afflicted. It needed reconsideration. So, we must, whether lagna is afflicted or not, take only the exact position of lagna. If the lagna is afflicted, then the horoscope has certain defect, and simply because there is that defect, we should not jump to Moon sign which is auspicious. After having found out this, I have stopped writing in the above manner, mentioned by you. Therefore, I request all the readers to take only the lagna and never the Moon sign, whether the lagna is afflicted or not. 2. Sub Lord Analysis KP is the sub lord theory only, nothing else. Finding the way to use the sub lord makes Guruji KSK crowned with success. Without consideration of sub lord, it is not a KP analysis. Consideration of A to D grade significators only, which are based on the KP significators table, does not make a sub analysis. Nowadays the KP analysis up to the sub lord has been commonly found practiced. Horary Number within 108 and within 249 Guruji KSK began using only 108 (Star padas) for Horary astrology and not 249 for Subs, as per given results of Horary no. 16 (out of 108), by analysis of signs and stars only and not subs, under the topic “Theft and Recovery” in the Krishnamurti Padhdhati Vol. 2, 1966, pp 123-129 (reprinted in KP Reader III, Practical Part, 1971, pp 62-67, / KP Reader III, New Edition, pp 219-225). Also in the newly written KP Reader VI: Horary book, first published in 1970, i.e. not based on materials of the Krishnamurti Padhdhati 2 Volumes, 1966, as the zodiac is divided into 108 equal parts 27 stars multiplied by 4 quarters and the number mentioned is 80. (pp 237-239); For 78 (out of 108), we get 16:40 Dhanus to 20 Dhanus is not the same fro 78 (out of 249) in p 92. A chance is given to the astrologer to find out from number 78 within 108 and 237 within 249 and enjoy as the same result is obtained. This mysterious agreement can be found only in this Divine Science practiced by intelligent astrologers making honest attempts with open mind. (p 231) But later since around 1969 Guruji changed the number between 108 to a more scientific and logical between 249 Subs, according to the solved example horary charts on pp 242-244 for 13-08-1969, pp 269-270 for 17-02-1969 with explanation, pp 278-283 for 11-05-1969, pp 284-285 for 21-09-1968, p 287 for 07-1969, p 290 for 10-1969, p 292 for 08-1969. . The point to be noted is to use the sign and star analysis for a horary number between 108 star padas, the sub analysis for a number between 249 subs and the sub sub analysis for a number between 2193 sub subs in a consistent approach. (Vol. 2, page 233) Regarding the orb for a planet near the cusp, a planet within 5° or 6° of the next cusp may signify the previous cusp, and only if the planet within 1° or 2°, having the same sub-lord of the next cusp, may signify the next cusp. (Vol. 3, pages 355-358) To show the sub lord alone can give decision in the matter of twins, several twin horoscopes are shown in traditional and KP calculations in the second half of Vol. 4, pages 513-568. The strength of Rahu/Ketu’s signification is emphasized in Vol. 5, page 669 by saying that only if there are no planets in Rahu/Ketu star, Rahu/Ket will signify the house occupied. (If a planet is in Rahu/Ketu star, the planet will signify the house occupied by Rahu/Ketu.) Only if there are no planets in the star of the sign lord, Rahu/Ketu will signify the results of the sign lord. And then the results of the planets in conjunction and aspect are mentioned to be considered. In the most solved examples of the KP Readers, only some, not all of the house occupied by Rahu/Ketu, planet in conjunction, planet in aspect, star lord and sign lord are found considered depending on relevance to the matter under consideration regardless of their sequence of order. (Rahu/Ketu Rules in KP in the KP E-Zine, May 2007 issue) In the case of Punarphoo due to Saturn-Moon connection, the adverse Western aspect (square, opposition etc.) between Saturn and Moon is supposed to mitigate the potency of Punarphoo dosha and so to give early marriage without delay; the favorable Western aspect (sextile, trine etc) is to give later marriage. (Vol. 5 pages 702-703) In the Dr. K. R. Kar’s Punarphoo cancellation theory is burning Saturn/Moon by the Sun’s rays. (K. P. & Astrology, 1966 Year Book, pages 69-72) In KP Reader V, page 224 (1971 Edition page 211), KP Reader III pages 226, 362 (1971 Edition, Practical Part pages 68, 194), the cuspal sub lord of a house indicates whether the matter of the house is favorable (promised) or not, and the significators point the time of event. This is explained in the last chapter, cusps and their functional role in K.P. of volume 5, page 855 that . . . for each query the relevant house cusp sub lord is to be examined first before fixing the period of the favorable significator for the event to happen. So it is crystal clear in KP that if the relevant cuspal sub lord does not promise a matter through its constellation and sub lord, that matter does not come to pass at all . .
