Ordering Key and Specification 321, 325, 328 & 340H 307H Fire & Smoke Dampers Series IBD – Fire Dampers Holyoake Curtain-type fire dampers are designed to maintain the integrity of the fire resistance of a wall, or floor, in which a hole has been formed to permit the passage of air, ducted or otherwise, to enable an air distribution system to function. The arrangement of interlocking blades mounted in a guide channel frame, minimizes space requirements and facilitates ease of installation in ductwork. Fire Rating: All Holyoake Series IBD units carry up to a 4 HOUR rating to AS 1530.4 as determined by the following testing Authority. For the purposes of the Australian and New Zealand Building Code they have an FRL/FRR of – / 240 / – . UÊBRANZ Assessment Report Certificate No.1 IBD Damper mounted in a concrete wall, or floor. (Certified for 240 minute fire rating). UÊBRANZ Model IBD-B-V Illustrated. Mounting Sleeve Omitted for Clarity, refer to Pages 313H - 317H for details. Fire Test Certificate No. FTC 392 IBD Damper mounted in a plasterboard wall. (Certified for 30 or 60 minute fire rating). (Certificates are available upon request). Standard Construction Frame: 110 mm x 1.2 mm galvanised steel, roll formed guide channel. Blades: 70 mm x 1.0 mm galvanised steel, roll formed inter-locking profile. Springs: Blade End: stainless steel. Retraction: stainless steel. Note: Horizontal dampers with a duct ‘B’ dimension of less than 180 mm have all blades fitted with end springs only. Above 180 mm constant force springs only are fitted. All vertical dampers have the bottom blade only fitted with end springs. Style-B Alternate Activation: Electro-Thermal Resettable Link This device can be activated by smoke detectors of compatible design, (Supply and fit by others). By definition, a fire damper provides an effective barrier to the passage of fire and products of combustion, but when its operation is initiated by the detection of smoke, or other products of combustion it may then be termed “smoke damper”. The difference between a fire damper and a smoke damper is not a physical one, but is in the method of initiating the operation. (AS 1682.1-1990). Series IBD fire dampers must be installed in sleeves (refer to Pages 313H - 317H). These sleeve assemblies are available, please consult the sales office. Stainless Steel: Construction in stainless steel is available for both IBD and mounting sleeves. Style-C Style-CR H B (Duct) B A Vertical or horizontal, but in all cases the blades must be horizontal. Mounting Sleeves: Fusible Links: ‘Safe Test’ Test latch Model IBD-TL fitted as standard, complete with 71º C Fusible Link. See page 318H for more details. (Other ratings available on request).
