When incoming files enter TeleForm. they are matched to a template and processed according to the template rules. There are three different types of templates: • Form — See page 14 • Document — See page 15 • Package — See page 16 Template Automatic Identification & Evaluation Manual Classification & Indexing Can Be Image File Can Be NonImage File Auto Exports Form Document Package Chapter 1: Introduction to TeleForm 13 .Designing Information Templates Information Templates are collections of rules that define what a file should look like (in structure if not actual appearance) and how it should be handled. 14 What Does TeleForm Do? . If Form Templates are built well. you must add Document and/or Package Templates to your system. There are different “styles” of Form Templates. Unlike Document and Package Templates. Form Templates include Reference Marks that enable automatic identification. almost no human intervention may be required. but they can all be automatically processed.Form Templates A Form Template can be automatically identified and evaluated by TeleForm. Form Templates also include data entry fields which can be fine-tuned to collect exactly the type of information required. This automated handling distinguishes them from Document and Package Templates. If you need to handle non-image files. TeleForm can only identify image files as Form Templates. which usually require some manual intervention. The ability to process non-image files was introduced in TeleForm v10. not just an image file. You can create one Document Template for processing a wide range of file types. but their ability to accept files of different structures (layout. Auto Export Indexing Fields DOCUMENT TEMPLATE What data needs to be collected from / about the document? How will captured files / data be stored? Content Rules What type and quantity of files can be matched to the template? Chapter 1: Introduction to TeleForm 15 . Each Package Template can include its own Index Fields and Auto Export settings. documents. Any file that is added to a Package Template will automatically be exported per the Package’s Auto Export settings. The real power of a Package Template lies in its ability to streamline indexing and exporting. The Package Template does not have a separate existence. verification (if needed).
