Forum Script's About Child AbuseChairperson Assalammualaikum, Hello and good morning to our English teacher and all my friends. I, (name) am your chairperson for today. Nowadays, child abuse is one of the popular cases that always occur in our society. In fact, this case needs to be given more attention so that it can be lessen or we can even put an end to it. Before we go further, let me introduce our panel members. Most of them are very knowledgeable and also experienced in this matter that we will be discussing. Without wasting our time, my first question to our first panel member, (Panel 1 name), can you tell us a little about the types child abuse? Panel 1 Thank you, chairperson. Although there are many formal and acceptable definitions of child abuse, the following is offered as a guide for information on child abuse and neglect. Child abuse consists of any act of commission or omission that endangers or impairs a child’s physical or emotional health and development. Child abuse includes any damage done to a child which cannot be reasonably explained and which is often represented by an injury or series of injuries appearing to be non-accidental in nature. There are 4 types of child abuse, it is physical, sexual, psychological and also neglect. Firstly, physical abuse is any non-accidental injury to a child. Secondly, sexual abuse is any sexual act between an adult and child. Thirdly, psychological abuse is also referred to as emotional abuse or mental abuse. It is a form of abuse characterized by a person subjecting or exposing another to behaviour that may result in psychological trauma, including anxiety, chronic depression, or post-traumatic stress disorder. Lastly, the most common type of child abuse is neglect abuse. It is the failure to provide for a child’s physical needs. This includes lack of supervision, inappropriate housing or shelter, inadequate provision of food and water, inappropriate clothing for season or weather, abandonment, denial of medical care and inadequate hygiene. What are the factors that can cause child abuse? Can you explain further about this? Panel 2 Thank you chair person. the very first thing when we encounter this problem is to report the case to the authority. According to research and statistics. everybody in this society should be a concerned citizen who is very alert to their surroundings. Do not be afraid to speak up and be brave to stand up for the child. that while certain factors often are present among families where maltreatment occurs. Some might even evolved into a pathological killer or criminal that takes satisfaction in other people’s pain and misery. Children in families and environments where these factors exist have a higher probability of experiencing maltreatment. Common factors associated with increased risk of child maltreatment are often categorized as follows: Parent or caregiver factor  Child factor  Family factor  Community and environmental factor  Risk factors for recurrence of child abuse and neglect  Co-occurring risk factor Thank you. however. most victims from child abuse is also an abuser when he or she grows up. So now we know that we must take immediate action towards . It must be emphasized.  A greater understanding of risk factors can help professionals working with children and families identify maltreatment and high-risk situations so they can intervene appropriately.
