College or Team Logo on right top corner (Logo size must not be larger than Efficycle Logo) EFFICYCLE SAE INDIA 2013 VIRTUAL ROUND Team name Institute name City, State Virtual Round Zone Instructions >> • Use the given format only, no other format will be accepted. • Total time for presentation per team= 20 minutes – Presentation : 10 minutes – Q&A session : 10 minutes • Use of videos, photos, animation, graphics, charts and prototype etc is allowed during presentation. • 100% work towards designing, CAD models, designs of subsystems, calculation, market survey, fabrication plans must be completed. • Include photographs wherever required in slides. • Presentations must be prepared in MS PowerPoint format and maximum size should not exceed 10 MB. • Carry the presentation in a formatted pen drive at your venue with file name <Team Name_Zone> • Presentations must not be mailed to any ID until and unless specified by Efficycle Technical Committee through email or web notification. 2 Presentation Requirements • Title page: Same as the title page of the format. • Team Structure: Name, branch, year of degree, role in team etc. • Introduction: Brief description about the background analysis, approaches adopted, design methodology etc. • Project Plan: A Gantt chart showing the detailed (week wise) breakup of the whole project activities. • Technical Specifications & Targets: Show all the technical specification of the vehicle and the performance targets • Frame: – Sketches of vehicle/ views of CAD model and design specifications – pros & cons of the selected vehicle configuration – material selection procedure – simulations/FEA etc. 3 Presentation Requirements • Power Train: – Details of power train including human & electric drivetrains – power & efficiency calculations – motors specification, transmission system/ gear arrangements – Battery runtime if vehicle run on electric drive only, calculate for different terrains. • Seats: Type of seats used, design, seating arrangement, pros and cons of selected seating arrangement, H-point, mountings, seat belt arrangement • Steering: Steering arrangement, geometry, mechanism, control, calculations, turning radius, critical speed details of parts used etc. • Brakes: Braking calculations, efficiency, type, braking distance calculations, weight transfer, details of parts used etc. • Suspension, Wheels & Tyre: Need of suspension in Efficycle, calculations, type, parts used, Size of rim & tyres, criteria for selection of size, wheel mountings etc. 4 Presentation Requirements • Safety Features: Protection measures in case of collisions, safety of drivers, safety of bystanders and pedestrians, kill switches and electrical safety • Ergonomic Features, Ease of operation: – User friendly features of the vehicle, rider’s comfort – vehicle utility for different purposes • Innovations: Concept of innovation, technology, feasibility, scope in automotive industry • Fabrication Plan: – Gantt chart of schedule of vehicle fabrication – lists of major items to be procured and to be fabricated in-house – market analysis for parts procurement and availability • College Facilities: Details of college facilities available for project and vehicle fabrication, details of sponsors etc. • Design Validation Plan: Plan for virtual and physical validation of design, methods & criteria of validation 5 Presentation Requirements • Cost summary: Subsystem-wise cost breakup – Fabrication Cost – Procurement cost – Total estimated cost of Efficycle – BOM in brief • Marketing Plan/ Commercial Feasibility: – Unique Selling Proposition (USP) – Market/customer survey – Production plant layout – Variants and different concepts of Efficycle – Environmental Contribution as a vehicle on road (Indicate how the vehicle will benefit to environment if run on road, comparisons maybe shown with a conventional fuel vehicle) – It is must to show a poster with slogan in a separate slide presenting theme of your efficycle 6
