Description

Echometer Well Analyzer ConfigurationsThank you for your request for a quotation on the computerized Echometer Well Analyzer. The Well Analyzer is used to optimize production from oil and gas wells. It is used with an acoustic gas gun and pressure transducer to acquire acoustic data and casing pressure for determination of liquid level depth and bottomhole pressure. The Well Analyzer is utilized with dynamometer sensors including a load cell transducer, an accelerometer and a motor current sensor to analyze the mechanical pumping system. The Well Analyzer is used with the motor power/current transducer to acquire and analyze motor power and motor current data. Echometer Well Analyzer Configurations The Well Analyzer system is very flexible and allows the operator to perform a complete well analysis, or the operator may elect to acquire the acoustic analysis portion of the instrument now and expand into the dynamometer and power analysis system at a later date or vice versa. The following tables summarize the most used configurations of the system depending on the user's requirements: The Total Well Management System (TWM), illustrated below, is the most complete system for acquisition and interpretation of; • Fluid Level and Bottomhole Pressure in producing and static wells • Dynamometer measurements using two types of load cells • Electric motor power and current measurement, simultaneous with dynamometer or independently • Programmed acquisition of pressure transient data • Programmed monitoring of fluid level in wells System Type and Cost Hardware List Software List Part Numbers Total Well Management System US $ 26,000 l-Well Analyzer Electronics and computer 2-Remote Fire Gas Gun 3-Pressure transducer 4-Horseshoe load cell, 30KLb 5-PRT load cell 6-Current probe 7-Power probes 8 -Cabling and accessories 9- 5 # C02 cylinder with hose and connectors 1-TWM 2-PRESSURE TRANSIENT 3-LIQUID TRACKING 4-QROD 5-AWP2000 6-Echometer HelpCenter P/NEQ1080 In all systems, the TWM software includes all necessary elements for acquisition and interpretation of the data and generation of reports and transfer to external databases. Additional information about each element can be viewed in the Echometer web page www.echometer.com. The Pressure Transient Tester System, illustrated below, is designed for acquisition and interpretation of: • Fluid Level and Bottomhole Pressure in producing and static wells • Programmed acquisition of pressure transient data • Programmed monitoring of fluid level in wells System Type and Cost Hardware List Software List Part Numbers Pressure Transient Tester US$21,750 l-Well Analyzer Electronics and computer 2-Remote Fire Gas Gun 3-Pressure transducer 4- Cabling and accessories 5- 5 # C02 cylinder with hose and connections (A large gas cylinder and a pressure regulator should be ordered separately or obtained locally) 1-TWM2.0 2-PRESSURE TRANSIENT 3-LIQUID TRACKING 4-QROD 5-AWP2000 6- Echometer HelpCenter P/NEQ1060 P/N EQ 1130 For pressure transient analysis, the liquid level depth, casing pressure and well data information are processed to obtain bottomhole pressure. Data plots include casing pressure, liquid level depth and bottomhole pressure versus time. Diagnostic plots, including Horner, log-log and MDH, are used to monitor the progress of the test. A BHP file is available for exporting data to other programs for a more rigorous analysis. For liquid level tracking, the depth to the liquid level is continuously recorded and displayed as a function of time and compared to high and low liquid level alarm limits to warn the operator of abnormal conditions in the well. Pressure is not recorded. Acoustic pressure transient data acquisition and analysis and liquid level tracking measurements are performed automatically. The operator specifies the shot frequency and the data is acquired automatically while the unit runs unattended for several hours or days. The acoustic data is processed to determine the distance to the liquid level. The Single Shot Acoustic Liquid Level System, illustrated below, is designed for acquisition and interpretation of: • Fluid Level and Bottomhole Pressure in producing and static wells • Annular gas flow rate, gas-free liquid column height and pump submergence • Well Potential System Type and Price Hardware List Software List Part Numbers Single Shot Acoustic Fluid Level Analysis US$ 13,550 1-Well Analyzer Electronics and computer 2-Remote Fire Gas Gun 3-Pressure transducer 4-Cabling and accessories 5- 5# C02 cylinder with hose and connections 1-TWM2.0 2 -QROD 3-AWP2000 4- Echometer HelpCenter P/NEQ1060 P/NEQ1120 After operator input, the computer activates the Remote Fire Gas Gun to create a pressure pulse that travels through the gas down the well. Acoustic reflections are detected by the microphone in the gas gun, digitized and stored in the computer. The TWM software digitally filters the stored signal at the precise collar frequency and automatically counts the number of collar reflections from the surface to the liquid level and determines the liquid level depth. Simultaneously, the casing pressure is automatically acquired at 15 second intervals to determine if gas is flowing up the casing annulus and at what rate gas is flowing up the casing, and to calculate the gradient of the gaseous liquid column above the pump, if present. The gas-free liquid level, the pump intake pressure and the producing bottomhole pressure are determined from the analysis of the acquired data. The producing bottomhole pressure and reservoir pressure are processed using the Vogel IPR or the Productivity Index analysis to present the operator with the producing rate efficiency and the maximum potential rate of the well. Measurements can be quickly repeated to verify accuracy and stability of the well condition. The Polished Rod Dynamometer System, illustrated below, is designed for acquisition and interpretation of: • Dynamometer measurements using the Polished Rod Transducer • Electric motor current measurement and analysis simultaneous with dynamometer System Type and Price Hardware List Software List Part Numbers Polished Rod 1-Well Analyzer 1-TWM2.0 P/NEQ1060 Dynamometer Electronics and 2 -QROD P/NEQ1140 System computer 3-AWP2000 2-PRT load cell 4-Echometer 3-Current probe HelpCenter US$ 11,450 4-Cabling and accessories The polished rod transducer (PRT) is designed for easy and safe installation and permits the operator to quickly obtain surface dynamometer cards, pump cards and standing and traveling valve tests. After stopping the unit, the operator simply and safely attaches the polished rod transducer to the polished rod in a few seconds. This highly sensitive transducer outputs a signal indicating change in polished rod diameter caused by the change in rod load during the pumping cycle and the signal is converted to polished rod load data with a typical accuracy of 3-5%. All dynamometer load cells include a built-in accelerometer from which the software determines velocity and position of the polished rod. The TWM program uses the Wave Equation model to convert the polished rod load and position into the corresponding Pump Dynamometer in order to provide an accurate diagnostic of the operation of the pump, the net pump displacement and the pump intake pressure. The Polished Rod transducer houses a small accelerometer for determination of position. Acquiring and processing acceleration data is a more convenient and reliable technique for determining polished rod position than utilizing the troublesome, string-type potentiometer. The Horseshoe Dynamometer System, illustrated below, is designed for acquisition and interpretation of: • Dynamometer measurements using the Horseshoe Transducer • Electric motor current measurement and analysis simultaneous with dynamometer System Type and Price Hardware List Software List Part Numbers Horseshoe Dynamometer System US$ 12,450 1-Well Analyzer Electronics and computer 2- Horseshoe load cell (30KLb) 3-Current probe 4- Cabling and accessories 1-TWM 2.0 2 -QROD 3-AWP2000 4-Echometer HelpCenter P/NEQ1060 P/NEQ1160 The Horseshoe Transducer is a high accuracy (0.1%) load and position sensor. It is rated to 30 KLb. Used with the TWM software, it allows troubleshooting the pumping system when abnormal operation is detected using the PRT. It is also recommended to be used when the majority of the wells to be tested are very shallow and have small diameter pumps. The Horseshoe transducer contains an accelerometer for determination of position. Acquiring and processing acceleration data is a more convenient, accurate and reliable technique for determining polished rod position than utilizing the troublesome string-type potentiometer. It is also recommended to be used when the majority of the wells to be tested are very shallow and have small diameter pumps. The Polished Rod Transducer (PRT) is designed for easy and safe installation and permits the operator to quickly obtain surface dynamometer cards, pump cards and standing and traveling valve tests. Its use is generally preferred by most operators and yields accurate measurements in the majority of the cases. All load cells contain an accelerometer for determination of position. The accelerometer is a more accurate and reliable technique for determining acceleration, velocity and position. Acquiring and processing acceleration data is a more convenient, accurate and reliable technique for determining polished rod position than utilizing the troublesome string-type potentiometer. The Hydraulic Horseshoe Dynamometer system, illustrated below, uses a 5-inch horseshoe transducer in conjunction with a spool assembly that is permanently located on the well for acquisition and interpretation of: • Dynamometer measurements using the 50KLb Horseshoe Transducer • Electric motor current measurement and analysis simultaneous with dynamometer System Type and Price Hardware List Software List Part Numbers Hydraulic 1-Well Analyzer 1-TWM2.0 P/NEQ1060 Horseshoe Electronics and 2 -QROD P/NEQ1170 Dynamometer computer 3-AWP2000 System 2- Horseshoe load 4-Echometer cell (50KLb), HelpCenter hydraulic lift, US$ 14,450 hydraulic pump and one spool 3-Current probe 4-Cabling and accessories The 50 KLb transducer is used with a spool assembly that has a 2" tube with end spacers that fits over the polished rod which allows insertion of the 5" horseshoe load cell and an associated hydraulic jack. A hydraulic pump is used to transfer the load on the polished rod to the 5" horseshoe transducer. This is a very safe and convenient technique for quickly installing a horseshoe type load cell. The 5" horseshoe transducer raises the polished rod only 1/8" so the plunger remains operating in the same portion of the pump barrel. The Plunger Lift Analysis System, illustrated below, is designed for acquisition and interpretation of: • Plunger movement and plunger location • Plunger Lift well performance • Pressure and Plunger location analysis for determination of proper cycle times System Type and Price Hardware List Software List Part Numbers Plunger Lift Analysis US$ 15,450 1-Well Analyzer Electronics and computer 2-Compact Gas Gun 3- Two Pressure transducers 4-Cable to Gas Gun 5- Cable to two pressure transducers 6-Adaptor, gas gun to well 7- 5# C02 cylinder with hose and connector 1-TWM 2- Plunger software 3-Echometer HelpCenter Lift P/NEQ1060 P/NEQ1100 P/NEQ 1195 Using the Well Analyzer to acquire acoustic and pressure signals from a gas gun attached to the tubing, plus pressure data from an additional pressure transducer attached to the casing can optimize the performance of a plunger lift installation. At any point in time during the Plunger Lift's operation cycle, both the position and velocity of the plunger can be accurately determined using this equipment. Monitoring the tubing and casing pressures allows the calculation of gas and liquid flow rates into and out of the casing and tubing, and also the varying flow rates as a function of pressure from the reservoir. Plunger trace measurements help to ensure that the plunger will reach the bottom of the tubing by the end of the shut-in time period so that all of the liquid in the tubing can be lifted to surface during the plunger unloading cycle. By accurately measuring the plunger fall velocity, the proper shut-in time for the plunger lift installation can be determined. Setting the well to have the shortest possible shut-in time period to allow the plunger to fall to bottom will maximize oil and gas production from plunger lift installations. The TWM Plunger Lift software includes all necessary elements for acquisition and interpretation of the data and generation of reports and transfer to external databases. Additional information about the Plunger Lift software and data acquisition can be viewed in the Echometer web page www.echometer.com. The Well Analyzer Electronics consist of precision sigma-delta analog to digital converters, transducer signal conditioning circuits and a notebook computer housed in a rugged waterproof briefcase. The analog to digital converter conditions and converts signals from sensors to digital data that are processed and analyzed by the computer to present the operator with an analysis of the well's performance. General Information Acoustic Pulse Generation for Liquid Level Depth and Reservoir Performance Analysis The Well Analyzer is generally used with a remote fire gas gun, pressure transducer and acoustic software to acquire and process acoustic data and casing pressure data to analyze the well's producing rate performance. The remote fire gas gun (WP=1500psi) is the most commonly supplied gas gun/microphone assembly for use with the Well Analyzer. In order to obtain pressure transient data, the remote fire gas gun must be utilized. It contains a solenoid that can be actuated by the Well Analyzer automatically while unattended. System Type and Price Hardware List Software List Part Numbers Well Analyzer Electronics, computer and software US$ 8,950 Well Analyzer Electronics and computer, housed in a rugged plastic briefcase surrounded by foam. 1-TWM 2 -QROD 3-AWP2000 4- Echometer HelpCenter P/NEQ1060 Well Analyzer Computerized Analog to Digital Electronics Package The Compact Gas Gun (WP=1500psi) and the 5000-psi gas guns (WP=5000psi) are manually fired gas guns. One of the advantages of these gas guns is that they can be operated in an implosion mode as well as an explosion mode. In the explosion mode, compressed gas is added to the compact gas gun volume chamber until the pressure in the volume chamber is in excess of well pressure. In the implosion mode (when the well has a surface pressure in excess of 100 PSI (7 arm.)), gas can be released from the well into the gas gun volume chamber that creates the acoustic pulse. These guns are especially useful when making measurements in gas-lift or in gas wells. A 5000-PSI (333 atm.) implosion/explosion gas gun is available for wells with pressures up to 5000 PSI (333 atm.). Please request a quotation on these gas guns if these gas guns are desired. The 15,000-psi (1000 atm.) manual implosion gas gun is generally used for measurements in high-pressure gas wells with pressures from 1500 PSI (100 atm.) to 15,000 PSI (1000 atm.). A 15,000 PSI integral pressure transducer is available with this gas gun as an option. LIQUID TRACKING is a software program that is used with the Well Analyzer computerized electronics package to track the liquid level in a producing well or in a well being drilled. The LIQUID TRACKING software is included in the Total Well Management System and is available as an option for all of the other systems. A remote fire gas gun is required for the Liquid Tracking operation. Dynamometer Load Transducers for Pumping Unit, Rod and Pump Analysis Three different load transducers are available. Each load transducer has its features. All load transducers house a reliable and accurate accelerometer. Acceleration data is processed to determine polished rod position. Electric Motor Performance Analysis Current Sensor A motor current sensor is supplied with all dynamometer sensors. The current probe is used to measure instantaneous motor current throughout the stroke. This permits an analysis of motor loading and proper motor sizing, and an indication of pumping unit balance. Power and Current Sensor The power/current transducer measures multi-phase motor voltages and currents. The data is electronically processed to obtain instantaneous power and current. This data is analyzed to determine overall electrical efficiency, balance and torque. Rod Pump Predictive Software For enhanced analysis of rod pumping systems, a rod system design software package is useful to fully evaluate the pumping system. QROD A user-friendly, predictive, wave equation beam pump modeling software program is supplied with the TWM software and is downloadable (free of charge) from the Echometer web page. The program only requires selection of "generic" pumping units that are modeled from "average" pumping units and API rod strings. This is a very popular and useful program. EchoPUMP A comprehensive predictive program "EchoPUMP" is a cost-effective option. This predictive program reads Echometer well fdes and data. Thus, the measured polished rod loads can be compared to predicted polished rod loadings. The operator can change parameters such as pump size, stroke length, rod sizes, strokes per minute and other variables, and then predict the performance of the pumping system. This program is very useful for studying the performance of a pumping system when a parameter such as pumping speed is changed. The program also allows the selection of the proper equipment for a particular well depending upon its depth, fluid characteristics, reservoir performance and other factors. The program is valuable for determining and understanding the performance of a beam pumped system. Plunger Lift Analysis Plunger lift analysis is available for determining plunger movement and location, evaluating well productivity, and determining optimum cycle times. See the web for an article on plunger lift analysis. Operating Manual A complete operating manual is supplied with all of the equipment. A CD with videos, FAQ's and Help is also supplied with the equipment.
