In 2001 the institute was upgraded to a degree awarding College. The College is located at Rinchending five hours drive from Thimphu and about ten miutes drive from Phunetsholing. is the only engineering college offering degree courses. It is located at Rinchending in Phuentsholing, five hours drive from Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan and Paro, the International airport. It is five kilometers away from the Indian Border town of Jaigoan in West Bengal. It is number one destination within country for Bhutan’s brightest students. The college was established in 2001 and is funded by The Royal Government of Bhutan. Physics, Maths and English, pass in Dzongkha OR Inservice candidates with diploma in engineering. Career in construction as civil engineers in private or public sectors. Electrical engineer in hydropower projects. corporations. private and government sectors.
