Covert hypnosis is the use of certain language patterns to first induce a trance state and give commands a subject. This is performed in such a way that the person being hypnotized as no idea that they are being given commands or otherwise persuaded. If a third party was listening to covert hypnosis conversation it would sound completely normal. So how exactly do we achieve this kind of covert hypnosis in our subjects? The first step is to become a careful observer. You need to be able to see minute changes in the physiology and behaviour of your subject so that you are able to understand whether they have been placed in a trance state. Learning to observe on this level requires both training and experience. Most people are unable to observe their subject properly because of internal chatter that distracts them from the other person. There are specific techniques that you can learn to limit and remove this chatter so you are able to fully concentrate on the other person. The next step is learning how to induce a trance state through your conversation. One of the most common conversational techniques to induce a trance state is through what is known as nested loops. Nested loops when used correctly appear as a perfectly natural form of conversation but thanks to a trick of the brain they will induce a trance like state where the person can then be hypnotized. With careful observation you will be able to tell when the person is ready to be given commands. The third and very important step is giving commands. A standard command is the embedded command. This is where a command word or phrase is placed inside a seemingly innocuous sentence. The way and manner with which this embedded command is delivered is the reason that the command goes straight to the unconscious mind of the subject. Because the conscious mind does not register the command the person is not able to apply judgement to the command and decide whether or not they will follow it. If you can learn these three techniques you will be able to use covert hypnosis in your everyday language to achieve the outcomes you desire. Like anything covert hypnosis can be used for good or evil. If you want you can use covert hypnosis to help people fulfil their potential and overcome their limitations. But on the other side of the coin you can use covert hypnosis to satisfy your own base desires. The power is really in your hands once you master the techniques of cover hypnotism. In the case of covert hypnotism or conversational hypnotism as it is also known the founder was Milton Erikson one of the fathers of modern psychology. His impact to the science is so strong that sometimes covert hypnosis is term Erikson hypnosis and the scripts that he devised are still used today. While others have built on the foundations of Milton Erikson work his studies and practice covered virtually all of the fundamentals of covert hypnosis. From the use of nested loops, to embedded commands, to gaining rapport to double blinds Erikson was the pioneer of them all. Milton Erikson was born in 1901 and until this time psychiatry was for the most part a confrontational science. This meant that patients beliefs were challenged in order to try and make a positive change. Erikson was the first to use a permissive style of therapy which instead worked within the framework of that particular patients set of beliefs. In the process he created a science which would have an impact far beyond the realms of the psychiatrist’s office. These days covert hypnosis is being used every day by CEOs, millionaire sales people, and presidents in order to induce the behaviour and outcomes that they desire. Erikson was beyond anything else a great observer of people. He was able to tell whether a woman was recently pregnant just be observing slight changes to her physiology. At the time even the women didn’t know she was pregnant. Another time he was meeting a patient for the first time. Even though the patient seemed female in every respect Erikson knew it was a man. When Erikson was asked how he could know this he said he observed the women coming through the door. Women will use a protective gesture across their chest rather than brush against a hard surface. The patient though had not done this because he was not used to having breasts. This was enough for Erikson to know his true sex. Erikson was also a master at pacing and inducing trance states using only conversation. He had perfect control over his own voice and could effortlessly give commands and suggestions to his patients. Using the techniques of conversational hypnosis he was able to help them overcome phobias and make positive changes in their lives. Erikson went on to help thousands of people using his conversational hypnotic techniques. Today the science he started is being built on and refined but without his presence would not exist at all. Covert Hypnosis Using Nested Loops Covert hypnosis is the science of placing people into a hypnotic trance state where they can be given commands. This is achieved without the person realizing what is taking place. One of the most powerful covert hypnotic techniques is known as the nested loop. Mastering the nested loop takes practice but once you understand the principles and can apply them you will be able to give embedded commands effortlessly. The main tool of nested loops is story telling. Before we begin to go into the exact details of nested loops it is important to understand exactly what we mean when we say story telling. If I was to tell you that this morning I went to the grocery store and bought a newspaper but I realized I had forgotten my wallet and needed to go back to my apartment then I have just told you a story. This is a short story but a story all the same. This is important because when I say that you should use stories I do not mean that they have to be complex. You want simple and realistic stories that sound natural to the speaker. Remember we do not want the subject to know that we are using covert hypnotic techniques. If they do become aware of this fact then we will not be able to place them into trance and embed commands. To start we need to think of five short stories that we are going to tell in succession. Each of these is a loop. These stories should be something that has happened to us rather than the subject. They should be easy to believe and realistic. When we tell our story we are going to close to revealing the conclusion and then segue into another story. So using the example mentioned above I would say “and I realized I had forgotten my wallet and I was just about to go back to my apartment to get it when… did I ever tell you how I always keep a photograph of my first wife in my wallet, there is a funny reason why I do that…” We will tell all five of the stories in this manner. The reason that we do this is that brain is always looking for completion. As we progress through the stories and the subject’s brain is unable to form this completion it becomes progressively overloaded. By the time we reach the fifth story it is ready for our suggestion as it is no longer judging what it is we are saying. On the fifth story we will give our embedded command. We then conclude the fifth story properly and work our way back through the other four stories giving the conclusion for each. As we do so the brain is satisfied that the stories are complete and sends it as is into the unconscious mind. The command contained in the fifth story is not registered by the brain on a conscious level but the unconscious mind understands the command given. This is the basic nested loop technique. The Use of Descending Voice in Covert Hypnosis Covert hypnosis is the use of certain language patterns in order to give commands. What is important in covert hypnosis is not just what you are saying but how you are saying it. One of the skills you need to master is the use of voice tonality. Here you will learn how using a descending voice allows you to give commands. Before using the descending voice technique it is important that you have placed your subject in a trance state. The deeper into this trance state the more receptive they will be to the commands that you are going to give them. You also need to know what command you wish to give. This should have been thought out before you began the conversation and should be carefully chosen to achieve your desired outcome. When talking to someone in the normal and non command phase of your conversation keep your tonality as measured and even as possible. You voice should be calming and non intrusive so that the subject does not feel confronted. Then when you are ready to give your command you will change up your tonality. The way we use pitch tells the person we are talking to whether we are making an observation, a command or a question. Through the strategic use of pitch we can make what outwardly looks like a question into a command. The advantage of this is that the conscious mind will register it as a question and thus will not attempt to reject it. However the unconscious mind we understand that it is a command and comply. What we mean by descending pitch as that as you say a sentence such as “Are you feeling relaxed?” normally if it is a question your voice will rise towards the end of the sentence. Practice saying that sentence now and watch the way that you say it naturally. However we can turn this into a command by lowering our pitch at the end of the sentence rather than raising it. Find other phrases that you would like to give as commands and practice saying them to yourself. It is best if these would normally be read as either statements or questions because it will not give the subject the opportunity to reject them. Once you have mastered the used of the descending voice you can start to use it in your conversation. Observe the difference it makes in peoples behaviour and the way that they comply with what you are saying. 5 Tips For More Effective Covert Hypnosis Covert hypnosis is the best way to induce a desired outcome in someone that you are talking to. The ability to give commands that are not registered as such and which act on the unconscious mind is a very powerful tool. Here are five tips to achieve better results with your covert hypnotic techniques. Become a Master Observer In order to be a good covert hypnotist you must be an excellent observer of people. You need to able to see whether they are following and responding to your suggestions and commands. You must also be able to tell whether they are in a trance state and thus receptive to embedded commands. To do this you must learn how to read body language and speech patterns. Some of these clues are minute changes in physiology and the more accomplished a cover hypnotist you become the smaller the changes that you will be able to read. A master conversational hypnotist is close to a mind reader in their ability to see what is going on in someone else’s mind. Learn to Create Rapport In order to use covert hypnotism you must first create a state of rapport between you and the subject. This is where the person is open and receptive to what you are saying and feels that the two of you are congruent. You achieve this state of rapport by first observing your subject and then replicating their body language, stance, breathing and vocal patterns. Learn to Use Embedded Commands An embedded command is a word or phrase placed inside of a normal sounding conversation. In order to use embedded commands you need to learn how to place them correctly and give emphasis when they are used. This means learning how to control your tone of voice and how to punctuate the command with subtle changes in your body language. Start With an Objective People often fail at covert hypnotism because they do not have a clear objective when they begin. You must know exactly what outcome you want to achieve from your covert hypnotic session and what it will look like when you achieve this outcome. This means mastering the techniques of visualization. Give the Subject Time You need to be patient when you are using conversational hypnosis. Beginners will often try and rush through the process giving command after command. You need to pace your conversation and you will likely need to slow your voice as the session progresses. Watch for signs that the person is responding to what you are saying and change your conversational hypnosis techniques accordingly. “Learn How to Use Covert Hypnotic Techniques to Influence and Command People While Making Everyday Conversation” For a limited time only receive your copy of “THE SECRET ART: A Guide to the Power of Conversational Hypnosis” absolutely FREE Click Here to Access “THE SECRET ART: A Guide to the Power of Conversational Hypnosis”
