In this study we only considered participants that have at least used couchsurfing once and discarded participants that have never used. How do you define your sexual appetite 10 9 8 7 Sexual appetite 6 5 4 3 2 1 0 5 10 15 20 25 30 35 40 45 50 55 60 65 70 75 80 85 90 Number of persons Conclusions In a universe of 300 people with an average age of 27 years old, start of their sexlife at 20,18 years old and 6,85 sex partners that have all used couchsurfing we can conclude that most participants used couchsurfing for meeting, with an average of more than 10 people met through that site. 22% of the participants had sex with someone they met in couchsurfing, having in average more than 1 sex partner. We can also conclude that attractiveness plays an importante role choosing which person you want to meet/host/surf. 24% of the participants answered that they wished to have sex with someone they met in couchsurfing but didn’t have the courage, but only 12% of them regret not asking. 29% of the participants would say yes if someone they met in couchsurfing and they liked proposed them to spend a night together, even knowing it would be short term and only during their stay. Also only 22% of the participants take the initiative to tell that they are interested in having sex. The statistical analysis also reflects that men are more interested in the sexual side of couchsurfing than woman. For example in question 16 (If someone you met in couchsurfing and liked, proposed you to spend a night together, would you accept even knowing it would be short term and only during your stay?) 87% of males answered yes to this question while for females was 4%. This survey was only based on a sample of 300 subjects and further studies would be required for more detailed analysis, nevertheless, the conclusions are very relevant and permit to understand better the relation between couchsurfing and sex.
