TITLE: Manual configuration of the BSI ECU on CITROËN C5 (X7). CONCERNING: The operations for configuring a BSI ECU: • • • Following the replacement of an ECU, Following the downloading of an ECU, Checking the configuration. IMPORTANT: Incorrect configuration will affect the operation of the vehicle. Follow the internet configuration procedure described in this document and limit the use of manual configuration just to the cases quoted in the INFO'DIAG. Incorrect configuration can have an impact on: • • • Safety (deactivation of vehicle protection devices), Overall functioning of the vehicle (complete loss of or damage to vehicle functions) Vehicle diagnostics (returning of fault codes which may cause the diagnostic tool methods to fail, and lead to the unjustified removal of parts). You are therefore requested to perform the configuration operation following the instructions on this INFO’DIAG in order to ensure customer satisfaction by returning their vehicle in a perfect operational state. 2 PRELIMINARIES The instructions below must be followed to guarantee safety linked to vehicle operation and well-being. 2.1 Safety advice Before starting the engine: • • • Check that the electronic parking brake is activated, If the gearbox is automatic, check that the gear lever is in position «P » (Park), If the gearbox is manual, check that the gear lever is in neutral. 2.2 Technical advice The BSI must be correctly configured before initialising the BSI, initialising the keys or starting the engine. Page 3 / 31 1. downloading or configuration of the BSI: Printing of customer options configuration values Chapter 3.1 and 3. or following the downloading of the BSI: follow chapters 3.2 and 3.3 • • OPERATIONS TO BE CARRIED OUT This chapter describes the steps to be followed to configure a BSI.3. 3.2 only. Chapter 3. If the configuration is being carried out independently of a BSI replacement.2 Operations to be carried out to configure the BSI: A) Configuration by internet B) Choice of maintenance plan C) Manual configuration of customer options D) Checking of certain parameters with manual configuration Chapter 3.1 Operation to be carried out before removal.3 Operations to be carried out after the configuration of the BSI: Initialisation of BSI (or initialisation of keys or synchronisation of high frequency remote controls) Page 4 / 31 . or the downloading of a BSI (checking the correct configuration of a vehicle for example): follow chapters 3.
