Binh Tay market (Big Market) is the Ho Chi Minh's biggest market. It will be a great destination for you if you want to discover Ho Chi Minh city. 

Binh Tay Market (Big Market) was built in 1928 located on Thap Muoi Avenue. The East of the market is nearby Kim Bien Market located on Hai Thuong Lan Ong Avenue and the West is Binh Tien Market located on Minh Phung Road.



Binh Tay Market was built by Quach Ham – the Chinese businessman, he had a French architect to design the market so it was built by the Western technology but bead the Chinese construction's style. It is about 28.000m2 of area including 12 small gates and 1 main entrance. There are about 876 stalls here with many kinds of goods, such as: food, ingredients, domestics, clothes,… so on.

Besides having some of the usual Vietnamese street food dishes at Binh Tay you can also try some more Chinese-inspired street fair as well as some of the city's best "banh bao" a Vietnam favourite inspired by the Chinese.

This market is both local trading center and abroad trading center to distribute the goods to other countries like Russia, Germany, especially Cambodia. The export items often are clothes, ceramics, and spices. It also is the retailing market with lowest price but the quality is very good.
