NALMET® 1689 Technologyfor Soluble Metal Control PRODUCT DESCRIPTION AND APPLICATION NALMET 1689 is a polymeric technology proven to be very effective in capturing and precipitating mercury and other heavy metals from solution. NALMET 1689 treats wastewater for mercury and other heavy metals removal as a single treatment process or for effluent polishing. NALMET 1689 has been effective in treatment of plating or surface finishing process wastewater, metals from incidental corrosion, incinerator or other scrubber water, flue gas condensate, groundwater, wastewater from metal-catalyzed or metal handling processes, cooling water blowdown, etc. The treatment program is a simple one or two-step program consisting of the heavy metal precipitation and often a flocculant to enhance settleable floc formation. The NALMET 1689 polymer reacts with soluble metal ions to form insoluble complexes leading instant formation of large, easily settled floc. In some cases, additional flocculant may be required for optimum settleability. The formation of settleable floc is essential to An Ecolab Company Eliminates need for coagulant 2. TTC. The metal-NALMET 1689 technology precipitate is more stable in water than is the free product. In case of skin contact. Good mixing of NALMET 1689 technology with wastewater at the product feedpoint should decrease this decomposition. During application of NALMET 1689 technology at pH<7. for the most current data.
