IMMOBILISER CIRCUITS 1 & 2 These are 20 amp circuits and have two wires each side to ensure adequate current capacity. IMMOBILISER CIRCUIT 3 Circuit 3 is not fitted in the 276Rli. The wires are included so that the loom is compatible with the 446 and 456 and allows for the installation to be upgraded at a later date if this becomes necessary. IGNITION Connect the wire marked "ignition" to a point that has + 12 volts while the ignition switch is in the "ON" and crank position. Do not connect to the auxiliary position. GROUND/CHASSIS Connect the wires marked "Ground" to two independent earth points. CENTRAL LOCKING The central locking output is designed for low current negative lock and unlock systems with a switching duration of 0.3 seconds. For other configurations use the Cl 65 (Part No. 065005). Refer to Note 3.1 to extend the time to 3.5 seconds for Pneumatic pumps. SERVICE/OVERRIDE The override should preferably be wired to a separate negative battery wire (Chassis) to the 276 Rli's negative battery supply. This would ensure that even if the alarm lost its negative feed you would still be able to override this system. The override must be well hidden but still accessible. If a Battery Backed Up Siren (PFK No. 078-000) is used the Override must only be wired to the Siren's Override. (See installation instruction supplied with the unit) The override facility must be shown to the vehicle owner. ANTENNA The antenna must NOT be sleeved or taped with the other wires. Run the antenna separately and try to position it away from metallic objects MOVEMENT SENSOR Use any PFK movement sensor shown on the diagram. Unless the single piece ultrasonic sensor is used which incorporates the status, light it is necessary to fit the separate LED, (PFK Part No. 674-442). Sensitivity is factory set but can be adjusted with the adjustment screwdriver supplied. Clockwise increases sensitivity. The control module must be installed in a concealed location inside the vehicle. Do not plug the control module in until the wiring is complete. All wire joints must be soldered and well insulated. Mount the control module vertically with the wires exiting from the bottom to prevent damage resulting from water leaking into the vehicle and then into the unit. THE 276RLi SELECTABLE OPTIONS Two jumpers on the printed circuit board select the options. The unit needs to be opened to access the jumpers. Insert a thin blade between the top of the front panel and the housing and release the two catches. Repeat on the bottom of the panel. Remove the front panel and the printed circuit board. CENTRAL LOCKING TIME - JUMPER 1 The central locking time can be increased to 3.5 seconds for pneumatic pumps by inserting jumper J1. Note that this jumper is supplied connected to a single pin. Remove the jumper and insert it over both pins. LOCK WITH IGNITION - JUMPER J2 If the 276RLi is interfaced with the vehicle central locking, the doors lock automatically when the vehicle's ignition is switched 'on'. The lock with ignition can be deselected by inserting jumper J2. Note that this jumper is supplied connected to a single pin. Remove the jumper and insert it over both pins. Note: For security reasons the doors do not unlock when the ignition is switched 'off'. When the lock with ignition feature is deselected, the auto rearm feature will be disabled. TESTING THE 276RLi ALARM INSTALLATION To ensure that the alarm system operates correctly, refer to the 276RLi operators instruction booklet supplied with the unit. For your convenience the 276RLi system incorporates a rapid test mode. RAPID TEST MODE Select by depressing the remote control button, and at the same time override the system momentarily, with the system now out of the override mode, all the times are shortened to facilitate easy testing. To exit this mode override the system and then put it back to the normal mode without transmitting with the remote control. Note : Do not leave in the rapid test mode. TROUBLE SHOOTING THE INSTALLATION DOORS DO NOT LOCK - The doors only lock after all the doors are closed. (this feature was included as some vehicle's central locking does not lock if you attempt to lock with the doors open.) - Check door switches. - Check for interior light delay. ELECTRIC WINDOWS DO NOT CLOSE - The alarm was armed with the door open, or in the movement sensor isolation mode. (See Operators Instruction.) - Check the electric windows closi ng interface wiring. ALARM DOES NOT COME 'ON' Alarm switched 'on' accidentally in the movement sensor isolation mode. (See Operators Instruction.) VEHICLE IMMOBILISED AND REMOTE CONTROL DOES NOT CLEAR IMMOBILISER - The anti-hijack immobiliser is active - Depress the hijack cancel button. - Check the remote control/s. HIJACK NOT WORKING - Ensure hijack door wire has been connected. - Check for faulty driver's door switch. MEMORY REPORT BACK The alarm incorporates a memory facility that records which circuit/s triggered the alarm system. In the event of a false alarm complaint by a customer, the cause can be easily accessed by using the Memory Report Back Mode. To access this information, simply override the system and then go back to the normal mode of operation. The Red Alarm Status Light will start flashing a number of times followed by a one second pause. By counting the flashes between pauses, the cause of the alarm triggering can be determined. The status light will stop reporting this information as soon as the ignition is switched 'on' or the remote button depressed. One Flash - indicates theUltrasonic sensor Two Flashes - indicatesthe Driver's Door Three Flashes - indicates the otherDoors, Bonnet Four Flashes - indicates theignition (Hotwire) Five Flashes - indicates Panic The memory is cleared once the alarm has been turned 'on' and 'off' ten times without the alarm triggering. MOUNTING THE CONTROL MODULE The control module should be mounted in a concealed location inside the vehicle. Decide on the mounting location prior to beginning the wiring. The unit should be mounted vertically, with the wires leaving from the bottom of the module to reduce risk of water damage resulting from leaks in the vehicle. … … … FITTING THE SECURITY HOUSING Once the installation is complete and fully tested the security cover can be fitted. Ensure that the slide in the security cover is not fitted and route all the wires, with the exception of the Sensor and Led wire through the slot and fit the slide. Attach the security housing to the main casing using the screws provided and insert the anti-tamper screw caps.
