With over 100 galleries from 20 countries showing the very best of 20th and 21st century art, ART HK 08 provides an art fair for Asia that reflects the diversity of artistic production from all over the world. In addition, we have organised surrounding exhibitions, events and talks which we hope will make your visit to the Fair and your stay in Hong Kong a truly inspiring and enjoyable one. More than just a place for buying and selling art, art fairs can also act as a catalyst for discussion and debate. We are delighted therefore that Asia Art Archive (AAA) will be presenting a programme of talks by leading artists, curators and collectors entitled Hong Kong Conversations. In conjunction with the Chinese University of Hong Kong the AAA will also be staging a conference that coincides with International Museum Day on 17 May - Shifting Sites: Cultural Desire and the Museum addresses the changing role of museums in the 21st century. As a reflection of our excitement at launching the Fair in Hong Kong, ART HK 08 presents a feature exhibition of work by emerging local artists curated by Sabrina Fung. Mirage brings together the most exciting work by a new generation of up-and-coming artists from Hong Kong, located at the heart of the Fair and surrounded by leading galleries from the city.
