In the reference second read above, the Commissionner, PR&RD, A.P., Hyderabad has submitted a proposal to extend the NTR Jala Siri Phase-II bore-well Project to the remaining Districts in the State of Andhra Pradesh i.e., East Godavari, West Godavari, Krishna, Guntur, Prakasam and SPSR Nellore. 3. Accordingly, Government after careful examination of the proposal, hereby approve and permit the Commissioner, PR&RD to extend the NTR Jala Siri Phase-II bore-well Project to the remaining Districts in the State of Andhra Pradesh i.e., East Godavari, West Godavari, Krishna, Guntur, Prakasam and SPSR Nellore with the following guidelines: Guidelines :- I The Mission: Government have decided to go in for bore-wells in the six districts of the State (i.e., East Godavari, West Godavari, Krishna, Guntur, Prakasam and SPSR Nellore) by optimally utilizing the available ground-water resources and recharge levels. An additional 73,740 bore-wells have been identified in command areas. II. Objectives of the bore-well Project: Conjunctive use of surface and ground water: The programme essentially focuses on utilization of available water resources and to promote conjunctive use of surface water and groundwater. This ensures recharge of ground-water extracted from new bore-wells from surface water in the vicinity and also recharge from applied irrigation in command areas. III.
