Note: INSTEON Hub must be installed and configured before proceeding with setting up the IP camera with the INSTEON for Hub app. 1. Launch app 2. Go to the Devices page and tap the Add (or +) button in the top right 3. Select Camera from the Add Devices page and follow onscreen instructions Tips: 1. When installing the camera via the INSTEON for Hub app, make sure you use the correct password for your wireless network when the app asks for it. 2. If you delete and re-add the camera to the app, make sure to factory reset it (see instructions on page 15). CAMERA INSTALLATION 1. Screw antenna to the back of the camera, adjusting so it points up (figure 1.1) Figure 1.1 2. Connect network cable to your camera and to your router (figure 1.2) Figure 1.2 3. Plug power adapter into camera and into wall outlet 4. The green network light at the rear of the camera will blink, and the camera will automatically begin a pan/tilt cycle. Locate and download the IP Camera Tool - Windows zip file. Extract the installer file IPCamSetup.exe to your computer. Locate and double-click on IPCamSetup.exe and install the software per instructions. Click Next to start the software installation process (figure 1.3). Locate and download the IP Camera Tool - MAC zip file. Extract the file IP Camera Tool Mac to your computer. Double-click to start the program (figure 1.6). Figure 1.6 Quick Start Guide for INSTEON Hub and Windows or MAC OS 7 D. LOG INTO THE CAMERA Open IP Camera Tool program. The following screen should appear (figure 1.7). Figure 1.7 IP Camera Tool should automatically locate the camera’s IP address. If not, make sure that DHCP is enabled on your router and that the MAC address filter and any firewalls and antivirus programs are disabled on your computer. Double-click the IP address on IP Camera Tool to display the login screen. Figure 1.8 Enter User Name and Password. Click OK to log into the camera (figure 1.8). INSTEON® Wireless IP Camera 8 Model No. 75790/75790WH Select the browser you’re using to continue Figure 1.9 If you are setting up the IP camera for the first time, be sure to allow ActiveX to run when prompted (for more details, see Owner’s Manual). You will be able to see the live video feed from the camera (figure 2.0). Figure 2.0 If you only see a black screen with a red cross in the center, try another port number instead of the default port 80. You may want to try port 85, 8005, etc. For more details on how to change the default port, see Owner’s Manual. If you are still unable to see a live video, try disabling any firewall or antivirus software on your computer. Quick Start Guide for INSTEON Hub and Windows or MAC OS 9 E. WIRELESS LAN SETTINGS 1. Infrastructure Mode a. Select Device Management and click Wireless LAN Settings. Then choose Using Wireless LAN. b. Click the Scan button. The camera will detect all Wi-Fi devices in the area and display your router in the list (figure 2.1). If the camera is unable to detect any Wi-Fi devices or nothing appears in your list, wait 1 to 2 minutes and click the Scan button again. Figure 2.1 c. Click the name of your router. The corresponding information (SSID and Encryption) will be filled into the corresponding boxes automatically. Fill in the Share Key field with your Wi-Fi password. Make sure that SSID, Encryption and the Share Key/Wi-Fi password you filled in for the camera are exactly the same as for your router (figure 2.2). The camera will reboot. e. After the camera has completed the countdown process, wait 10 seconds and disconnect the network cable. f. After the network cable is unplugged, the camera’s IP address will disappear from the IP Camera Tool while it establishes a new wireless connection. It may take up to 1 minute to show up in the IP Camera Tool. The camera should work through your wireless router. Refer to the FAQ section in the Owner’s Manual if your camera still can not connect through Wi-Fi. 2. WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) Mode a. Use a paperclip to press and hold the RESET button for four seconds (see figure 2.3). Reset button Figure 2.3 b. Within 60 seconds of releasing the Reset button, press your router’s WPS button. The WPS button is usually located on the router’s back or side. On some routers, you may need to log into the web interface to activate the WPS feature. Refer to your router’s User Manual if you’re unsure of how to activate WPS. The camera will automatically create a secure wireless connection to your router. If you have plugged in the network cable, unplug it. While connecting, the green network light will blink quickly and the wireless settings will take effect. The IP Camera Tool will search the camera’s LAN IP. Make sure the PC and the camera share the same subnet. Note: 1. During the WPS setup, press and hold the Reset button only for four seconds. Otherwise, the camera may reset to its factory default settings (requires pressing and holding the Reset button for more than 10 seconds). 2. The security mode of router cannot be WEP, or else the WPS settings may fail. Quick Start Guide for INSTEON Hub and Windows or MAC OS 11 F. DDNS SERVICE SETTINGS 1. INSTEON DDNS INSTEON IP cameras have unique DDNS addresses built-in, allowing you to access the camera remotely via user-friendly URL’s such as cam1.myipcam.org. Go to DDNS Service Setttings via the administrator panel to see your camera’s unique DDNS address (figure 2.4). cam1.myipcam.org Figure 2.4 For example, use http://cam1.myipcam.org:25110 to log into the camera. Here http://cam1.myipcam.org is the DDNS host and 25110 is the camera’s port. 2. Basic Network Settings A static IP for the camera is needed when configuring the DDNS service settings. Log into your camera and set basic network settings as in figure 2.5. Figure 2.5 Make sure that your camera is in the same subnet as your router; keep the first three sections the same as the router. Gateway is your router’s LAN IP. You can find the DNS server in your router. If you don’t know the DNS server, you can also find it in your computer’s LAN. For more details, see Basic Network Settings in the Owner’s Manual. Normally, it contains your computer’s LAN IP, gateway, DNS server. INSTEON® Wireless IP Camera 12 Model No. 75790/75790WH We recommend changing HTTP Port to 25110. Click Submit after entering these settings; the camera will reboot. 3. Configure port forwarding Log into your router and locate the port forwarding settings. Refer to portforward.com for your router settings. For example, the Linksys router has the following configuration settings: Set the port forwarding fields as follows (figure 2.6): Figure 2.6 You can also choose port range forwarding (see figure 2.7). Figure 2.7 In order to forward the port successfully, we recommend you set the same number for the start port and end port. You can now use the DDNS domain name and port number to log into your camera from anywhere For example (see figure 2.8), use strings http://cam1.myipcam.org:25110 to log into the camera. Here http://cam1.myipcam.org is the DDNS host and 25110 is the camera’s port. THIRD-PARTY MOBILE APPS If you are not using this camera with the INSTEON Hub, we recommend the following third-party apps: iOS - IP Cam Viewer, NetCam Viewer, FosCam Pro, FosCam Surveillance Pro Android - IP Cam Viewer or TinyCam Monitor Windows Phone - IP Cam Controller Visit insteon.com/ipcamera for guides on how to setup your camera with thirdparty apps. Note: When setting up the camera using third-party apps, choose Foscam FI8918W as the camera profile within the app. FACTORY RESET To reset the camera to factory default settings, use a paperclip to press and hold the RESET button for ten seconds.
