We commit to fulfill our mandate as the Philippines’ policy‐making and coordinating body on statistical matters in the country. Guided by the principles of truth and professional integrity, we shall promote and maintain an efficient government statistical system that provides adequate, accessible, consistent, reliable and timely data. In quest for excellence in our task, we shall strive to improve our knowledge and attitude and acquire greater skills in promoting the effective delivery of government statistical services. We shall ensure the relevance of our outputs to changing needs and requirements through careful planning and proper choice of priorities and initiatives. We affirm our partnership with the data providers, producers and users as well as the educational institutions in the enhancement of our statistical products and services. For the first time. Together with the unwavering support of our partners and stakeholders. the NSCB compiled and released the 2006 poverty statistics for eight basic sectors. under a World Bank project. As we reached our 23rd year of dedicated and professional public service. Quarterly Economic Indices. and coordination of various interagency and technical committees. among others. poverty alleviation programs and projects could be better targeted and government efforts could be more focused. which we hope to maintain in the years to come. effective statistical coordination. We take pride in having sustained our efforts to be a world class statistical agency by embarking new strategies and taking bold steps in our desire to meet the ever increasing challenges that we face not only in the Philippine Statistical System (PSS) but also in the international statistical community.
