I.PURPOSE OF THE ACTIVITY The purpose of this activity is to perform a road inventory survey along Magsaysay Avenue which will be used for capacity and LOS analysis. II. DESCRIPTION OF THE SURVEY AREA A. Location The area that the group covered for this activity is from Emilio Jacinto st. – Magsaysay Avenue intersection up to Ylanan st. – Magsaysay Avenue intersection. B. Date and Time of Survey The road inventory survey was conducted last July 20, 2009 (Monday) at around 9:00 – 11:30 in the morning. C. Weather The first part of the survey is rainy and after some time, the weather became fair. III. Method of Data Collection Surveyors walked along link and located objects or points by chainage (measuring tape). Basic information for planning purposes like location of traffic signs, and distances of utility lines from the road are obtained. On the other parts of the study area. even the center line were gone. while concrete was for the sidewalks. • Adjacent Land Use The land use of our study area was mainly for school use (institutions) only. • Traffic Control Devices Road signs were visible in the said area. No traffic signal was present in our area. there were temporary road signs placed on specific areas. the area after the Emilio Jacinto st. pipes. concrete and wooden posts (for electricity and telephone lines) were present at the study area. . The Study Area This is the top view of our study area. B. • Service Provisions Manholes. These service provisions post no threat to the vehicles as well as the pedestrians. – Magsaysay Avenue Intersection And this is the Ylanan – Magsaysay Avenue Intersection .This is the Emilio Jacinto st. 2 0.28 5.
